More attrition to come simply due to math

This is just in doing a quick look at the roster and crunching some numbers. Subtract those who expired eligibility and have left or are planning on missions, add in currently committed 2018 players NOT planning on serving a mission and 2018 returning missionaries and this equals around 128 players. The roster for the start of the season can be 105 and then can go up as high as 124 later with walkons. So at least 23 will drop from the active roster for the start of the season. Surely they won't all be gray or redshirts.

The unfortunate thing is BYU is losing all of it's 4* kids, not the 2* or unranked kids.

Some of those “under the radar” additions will have as yet unblossomed talent and be destined for greatness, like the walk on, Dennis Pitta. BYU has some stud QB’s waiting in the wings, even without Dinkelmann. Recruiting will come back, once the staff stabilizes, probably by next season. This transition will be looked back on as a bump in the road. BYU will be OK.



BYU will be good again, even without Ty Detmer teaching the QB’s, though I am still hoping that he can be retained.

Math needs to be fired. We can't keep losing people.

Clearly a case of over promising and under delivering.



Maybe there will be a few more HC violations.
