If BYU loses to Boise tonight do they go to a bowl?

A loss puts BYU at 1-5. To go bowling BYU would have to win 6 of their last 7 games and 5 of those games are on the road.

They'd have to win 5 of their last 7, right. That would put them at 6-7, which is technically bowl eligible as long as there are enough bowls to cover all the 6-6 teams.

I think that BYU can go 6-7 with wins over ECU, SJSU, UNLV, UMass, and Hawai'i. However, 6-7 likely won't be enough unless there aren't enought (6+) - (6-) teams. If a lot of teams are 5-7, we might get lucky. However, we might also drop another game, resulting in a 5-8 year.



I had thought to myself that BYU would lose to Utah State. BYU's offense wasn't very good, but neither was Utah State's defense; their offense was decent, but our defense hasn't been too bad against average/below-average teams. However, that game was on the road, and Utah State has a bigger rivalry with us than they do with U of U. I expected they would be hungry and would smash us in the trenches.



Even though Virginia beat Boise State in Boise, I don't see us winning in Provo and I'm not sure if we can beat an average Fresno team, and we will surely lose to Miss St.

I think this one is a must win to go bowling.

I think BYU's chance to make a bowl game went out the window with the loss last week. The only thing we can hope for is a miracle win tonight and next week and then they would appear to be good enough to win the rest of their games. The way they are currently playing, they may only win 1 or two games the rest of the season.
