Any Heimuli News???

Looks as if he had added 2 visits. He is at UCLA today, and is going to UW in 2 weeks. No BYU visit scheduled. So I suppose he will not commit until LOI day.

Mark my words. Heimuli is not coming to BYU, neither is Krueger. netiher one of them are going to attend the recruiting event at BYU this weekend. If they were even thinking about going to byu it seems like they would be there.

I've heard that no recruits who have not previously committed to BYU are not coming for the recruiting weekend. I second jonnylingo. Heimuli and Kruger are not coming to BYU.

We don't have any scholarships left anyhow with Harvey coming back. I'd say a JUCO safety is all we may fill this class out with.

And that safety might have to walk on and earn it like Rich did.

Per Bronco, he said we still have 2 offers out there. Heimuli is one of them. I wonder who the other is?

I do think a safety is a strong possibility. We will need one for 2011, but should be set in 2012 and after. In 2010, I expect Bradley to switch over, as Coach Hill said he might. We have more corner depth than safety depth. And I can not believe I actually just typed that. And that is it true.

Lawboy, I think its krueger.

Also, someone made a good point on another board about heimuli and not coming this weekend. he has been on byu campus many many times, met the coaches many times and spent a week with apo and heaps last week. just becuase he didn't show i guess doesn't mean too much.

some of those more educated on teh recruitnig process seem to think that its is between UCLA and BYU. So it appears we do have a chance.

I would be suprised if we get him, but not too suprised given the quality of players coming into byu right now. i think byu has a better shot at a bcs bowl than ucla does.

I would even say they ahve a better shot at a national title than ucla does.

That's funny- I was under the impression that it's between Oregon and Utah.

None of us really know anything for sure.

I have read Oregon is high on Ricky's list. That he was really impressed w/ the school, facilities & staff. That said - when it all comes down to it - Ricky is "playing it close to his vest." Much like Manti did last year.

So - perhaps there will be a surprise in his choice - maybe not. This is why they make Pepto Bismo!!! It's enough to make you crazy eh???

That would be really nice, but there aren't many like Rich, who would turn down schollies to BSU and Cal to walk on. Rich is a special kid who really deserves our appreciation, both for that decision, and for his great play. That kind usually has offers waiting. :~(

I wouldn't be surprised to see the elder Comer boy walkon and do exactly what Rich has done if he doesn't get an offer.

Word on street is that byu told heimuli that they don't ahvea scholarship for him anymore despite him starting to lean byu. he would have to go straight on a mission and then come when he gets back. this probably explains why he and his whole family went to ucla this weekend instead of byu.

krueger is not coming to byu either, no suprise. his mom is making the decision for him.

I think this Krueger has special academic needs, which is why he transferred from Mt. Timp to PG this year. I have heard from a former coach at Mt. Timp that he is not he brightest bulb in the box. Not sure he would qualify for BYU, and might struggle academically. Utah might be the better academic fit to keep him qualified in all honesty. I hear he is an amazing athlete, like his brother,though.

Today's trib blog is saying that Heimuli has officially taken BYU off his list of potential schools since we don't have a scholarship for him and want him to go on a mission before enrolling:

If he isn't even visiting Utah then that means he will be going to a Pac-10 school.

He sounded committed to Washington, to me, not officially, but he seemed to be leaning that way.
