Steve Conroy must have got confused- He has Utah at 13th and BYU unranked...

Eric Schmoldt of the Casper, Wyoming Star-Tribune has BYU at #7.

Interestingly, after week 2, Herbstreit had BYU at #5, Fowler and Conroy had BYU at #7, James had BYU at #11, and Schmoldt had BYU at #12.

Because of that, I'm not sure it's bias as much as it's that each voter interprets the different data points gathered throughout the year differently.

Wouldn't it be a conflict of interest for someone who has a son on an FBS team to get a vote in one of the major polls?

That doesn't worry me as much as the coaches poll. That's just asking for biased voting.

Good point, he's only got one kid on the team, whereas the coach has around 80.

So who is this Steve Conroy doofus who puts Utah at 13 and leaves BYU unranked? How can anyone come up with that result and not have ignorance, alchohol or weed, genetics, or some combination thereof not involved?

The entire coaches poll shouldn't be allowed due to conflict of interest. The coaches poll not only helps determine who plays in the BCS championship game but also which programs are perceived as being among the best and in the premier conferences. The BCS should disallow the coaches poll.
