Steve Sarkisian considered for head coach at USC

The main news radio station here in Los Angeles is reporting that the Pete Carroll to Seattle Seahawks is a done deal and that Steve is on the short list for replacement!

I LOVED Sark when he was at bYU, but if he returns to SC, my opinion of him will drop a few notches.

For the most part UW is bigger competition for recruits than USC as it pertains to BYU; at least right now, in fact we're going head to head in the future for several big time recruits so anything bad happening to UW is huge for BYU; this might also impact Jake Lockers decision to stay.



If Sark goes to USC, it'll be with a long term contract and a promise that he's the guy while USC cleans house, win or lose (kind of like what Fresno State has done with Steve Cleve)



This might not sit well with people in Seattle though, their pro team gets Carroll at the expense of their college team (if Sark went to SC)



One reason I don't see this happening though; if USC is in as much trouble as we expect, Sarkisian was one of the beneficieries during that time and has dirty hands like Kiffin, Caroll, Norton, etc. In some ways it makes sense for Sark to go to SC and in other ways it's the worst possible career decision.



Regardless, it seems that Pete sees the writing on the wall and wants out now that he's turned his gold mine into a strip mine.

I keep hearing USC wants either Oregon State's Riley or Jeff Fischer from the Titans.

Fischer is a USC alum. HE would be a great fit there and keep them rolling, without question. Another great choice for USC would be Charlie Weis.

I think I heard something about a coach from Texas Tech that might be available. ;)

Word I'm hearing - around here (L.A.) - they're leaning towards Oregon St.'s Riley.



I can't see Sark leaving Washington ..... Hmmmmm. Who knows?

Jake Heaps is committed 100% to BYU, Jake Locker may decide it's in his best interest to enter the NFL draft and leave Washington.
