Jimmer Expected To Miss The Game @ UTEP

"High-scoring BYU guard Jimmer Fredette is questionable, at best, to play against UTEP on Saturday, coach Dave Rose just acknowledged... things are not looking good. âHe was in no condition today to practice. We do know that,â Rose said.

He may not even travel with the team. :~(

Morgan is feeling fine after suffering a light concussion. He wasn't orginally going to play this Saturday but now he might.

Emery seems to be at about 90% on his heel, which is a good thing.

Loyd's 6 stitches are healing too, after catching an elbow in practice from the ever-excitable JT.

I'm a bit worried that UTEP might be this year's trap game for the Cougars. UTEP is playing some decent basketball, the game is on the road, and Jimmer will be out. If the Cougars can come through with all of that, I can see the UTEP win being a bigger validator of this team then even the UNLV game (because that game was at home). It will take some extra mettle to pull that off. Here's to the Cougars doing just that.

UTEP and Utah State have very similar RPIs, just outside the top 100...

Worried about this one too. But I think we'll pull it off. Maybe this will be a bit of a breakout game for Loyd.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to watch because I have to go to a company party. Ugh!

You need a DVR man. It's the only way I've been able to watch BYU's games this year thanks to my work schedule.

We can probably start Emery, Haws, JT, Hartsock and Miles and be fine. Let Jimmer rest. We're going to need him at NMU and SDSU

I voted in a poll that the cougars would go undefeated for the rest of the season, so I also vote no to another trap game.

USU is already 0-2 in the WAC, obviously that was a trap game.

This team saw what they can do without Jimmer. They win by 10. IF they had a healthy Jimmer, they'd win by 20.

Just saw that apparently Jimmer has mono, not an easy thing to get over. That would explain the sore throat, tiredness and weight loss. Good news, he can't get it again. :P

Dude, that sucks. It takes like 6-8 weeks to recover from that.

I'd rather lose this game, than have Jimmer suffer anymore. We NEED him late in the season. But we have a good chance tonight. We have a deep, good team!

It was reported that he had strep throat. Are you sure about Mono? I have not seen that reported.

Any physician worth his/her salt knows that if a person with mono is given an amoxicillin type antibiotic for strept,they'll frequently get a rash,in fact this is one way to know you've missed the correct diagnosis of acute infectious mono in the patient in question.My apologies to Jay Drew for his lack of medical knowledge aside.
