Afutiti and Taufi not returning next year!!!!

I knew it was a LONG shot for Afutiti and Taufi to get back next year but this still SUCKS!!!!

I was shocked because I thought the last we had heard about Afutiti is that there was a better than average chance that he'd be with the team come this fall. How exasperating his BYU career has had with his football experience being confined totally to the practice field and most media reports salivating over his potential based on what they saw. Dang!



I was shocked also about Bronco mentioning that possibly three of his coaches were looking at opportunities and that he expected to possibly lose one. That was a new development.

Bronco needs to be less candid with the media.



DO NOT SAY YOU'D BE INTERESTED IN NORTHWESTERN, STANFORD, OR THE SERVICE ACADEMIES!!!!



The media will be all over you when those jobs open up and they will open up.

All I can say it that Bronco targeted schools much like BYU in his comments. Places with intelligent, and disciplined kids. That means that he does prefer the BYU type atmosphere and appreciates dealing with few behavior issues. I had no problem with his honesty. I respect it.

For sure Broco is reffering to schools "like" the ones he mentioned, but I agree, you still don't get that specific,...

I was really counting on Afutiti to make it.... That leaves a sizeable hole on our dline. Matt Putnam better have the offseason of his lifetime.

It's not a bad thing to have your name out there as a great head coach; in fact others have milked the reputation meter a heck of a lot more than Bronco. (that's exactly what Harbaugh did by interviewing for the Kansas job, even though everyone here in the Big 12 knew he would never take it... he's sitting pretty til the NFL comes a calling)



Bronco is probably just listening to his agent. Leave some options open so that BYU stays on their toes and gives you what you want in terms of facilities, asst coaches, etc.



It never hurts to have a little leverage. He's a BYU lifer but for him to say that openly gives him less leverage.

The off-season drama is killing me! This is nail biting stuff. Can you imagine all this raw talent coming in & having a new coaching staff (up to 3 new assistants)!!!! Damn!
