BSU is good, but let's keep it in perspective

Lack of respect for Boise? rightly so. BSU is an outstanding team, but all they had was ONE big game (Oregon sucks)- bring them into the MWC or any BCS conference, they would go undefeated as often as BYU does. I considered TCU the best team in the country before last night, but they are clearly not. That said, the lack of respect for Boise is every bit deserved, they are not that great people... Could they beat Florida, Bama, Texas? sure, but so can Ole Miss, Kansas State, Utah, really anybody could. Until they go undefeated in any of these (see below) conferences they ARE NOT a national powerhouse.



List ranked according to quality and strength of conference:

1. SEC

2. Big 12 (...)

3. Big Ten

4. ACC

5. MWC

6. PAC-10

7. Big East

I completely disagree. What we saw last night was the reason that TCU and BSU played each other instead of BCS teams. If TCU and BSU had played 2 other bcs teams, then the BCS would need to explain away 2 more losses.

First of all, I didn't say anything about BYU, thus your telling me I am not a BYU fan in correlation with my analysis of Boise State not only is offensive but also completely unrelated- feel free to disagree with my opinion, but do not put into question my loyalty to my Cougars. I love BYU, all that it stands for and I as sure as that LOVE BYU football- I am a fan....

You CAN'T be a BYU fan- You just used every dumb argument ever used against us. You must really hate the 1984 team that clearly wasn't up to the standards of the power conferences in your opinion... :gross:

Dude, according to the rules of College Football we won the National Championship in 1984, Boise State beat New Mexico State and 234 teams of that calliber, yes, they can only beat who they play, but under this system there is no way that we can accurately assess whether Boise State is as good as 26 win record. Do you really, really believe that if Bosies State wasn't in the WAC and in any of the conferences I mentioned earlier we'd even be having this disucssion? Take a Virginia Tech for example, you talk about them in the same breath as you do with Bama, Texas, Florida? Put them on Boise's schedule and they would have killed, too- BYU would have, Utah did, c'mon

and to your pint about arguments used against us... BYU has proves itself both in and out of conference play- Bosie plays Bowling Green and California Davis in addition to their stupid conference.

Did I mention Miami (OH) and Fresno State (which would rank 6th in the MWC). ONE BIG game they won, close, considering TCU played on their part its worst game- c'mon.

You do realize that in this decade BSU has done a much better job of proving itself in and out of conference play than BYU has? Let's keep THAT in perspective.

The Boise state team I saw on Monday could have competed very well in any conference in America. I wouldn't say they would go undefeated but they would be very competative. The Boise state team I saw on Monday would have had no trouble winning the pac 10, MWC, Big east, Big 10, or ACC. I would put them right in the hunt for the SEC championship and the Big 12 Championship. Don't kid yourself or be dilusional because they play in a weak conference. That is a very, very good football team.
