BYU- The MWC's Best Basketball PROGRAM

With conference play about to get underway, it's a good time to note that since the inception of the MWC, BYU has won more conference games and overall games than any other league team.

This, courtesy of my stats guru Ralph Sokolowsky: BYU is the ONLY major level school (FBS in football; D1 in basketball) to have both a football and basketball coach sporting career win percentages of 75% or better. Bronco Mendenhall has a 49-15 record and a win percentage of 76.56% (5th nationally among active coaches), while Dave Rose's record is 111-35, with a win rate of 76.03% (7th among active coaches).

Coach Cleve did a fine job bringing BYU back to respectability again. But Coach Rose has taken the team to a whole new level. I really think this is the year we finally see a streak in the tourney. And at this point, I'll take any streak longer than 1 (a loss).



One thing is for sure... in basketball and football, as long as these two guys are at the helm, BYU is going to be a force to be reckoned with on a national level for years to come.

Impressive, but I'd rather be able to make the claim that Florida can. A football and basketball coach who have each won two National Championships!

I'd take current football and basketball coaches that have both won "A" National Championship . . . then we can nitpick the quantities championships :evil:
