Anyone else paying attention to this tonight? Sounds like something is going down for BYU one way or another. May involve getting rid of the dregs of the Bxii and starting a new conference which includes BYU?

Interesting. I kinda figured as much about the lack of 8 votes for either Houston or Cinci. It's nice to see confirmation that BYU is set for selection number one, and that the controversy is about Houston vs Cinci.



One thing I hadn't expected was that Texas has entrenched for Houston (if Montemayor's sources are correct). Previously, Hookem Horns had told us that his sources believed that Texas was not that commited to Houston, but was putting on a superficial show of support. But who Knows?



Montemayor's comments hint at a possible dissolution of the Big 12, if no agreement can be reached on the second expansion candidate. Does this mean that the Oklahoma schools and West Va would bolt if the Texas coalition will not back down regarding Houston? We know through D Boren, that OU is serious about wanting to expand the conference, perhaps to the point of threatening to leave if it doesn't happen. However, they won't compromise regarding Houston. The previous suspicion of a compromise that dumps 1st choice BYU to avoid the argument of Houston vs Cinci, no longer seems to hold water. Especially since OSU's recent statement that it would never consider Houston, due to fears of losing Houston area recruits.



So it seems now that it's not so much an Oklahoma group's love of Cinci, as it is a refusal to accept Houston.



And the Big 12 might break up over Houston? Do the rumors from Montemayor's mean that BYU could end up in a deal with the Texas school's (including Houston), Kansas Schools, Air Force and Tulane? Maybe throw in CSU and UConn to make 12?

We don't need to worry about that. As much as BYU would like to be in a P5 conference, the Brethren would tell these people to take a hike if they insisted we change our stance (read: alter the doctrine of the Church). We can see spineless moral cowards all around the country, as, as well as on BYU message boards, groveling before evil "LGBT" groups and their supporters but that crap won't happen here. It's why I'm proud to be a BYU fan. Though, I must say, I'm beyond disgusted by some of the comments I read over on CB. One has to assume most of them are LDS. Not that anyone would know by what they apparently believe. Reminds me very much of when President Benson talked about members who "are more concerned with bringing the world into the Gospel than they are the Gospel into the world." As far as I'm concerned, BYU fandom does not need these frauds. To heck with a "big tent" philosophy, either on these boards or in general. These fools can go root for Utah.

ha ha. I was just fine leaving politics and religion out of the argument. it's sga and LGBT groups who can't leave it alone. sorry, not going to sit quietly and let them run roughshod over byu while they claim some great injustice.

would be hilarious if isu got left out of a conference scramble and byu gets in.

I dont care if we talk about how them protesting BYU will impact us for football or what not, but providing your stance on LGBT in general or how "evil" they are isn't needed

It shouldn't be but it is unfortunately. Seems like you're more mad at us for defending BYU and the Church than at the LGBT crowd who's approach is basically "Change your beliefs to appease us or we'll try to destroy you." It wasn't us or BYU who made this an issue in the first place.

That publication has consistently been negative about BYU and BYU's chances for B12 inclusion. They seem to have a liberal agenda and an axe to grind, and are unwilling to acknowledge the support for BYU from the Texas schools. So, I don't consider them (Dallas News/Dallas Morning News) to be very credible.

I agree with you and B'Bot. The lgbt want to control everything they can. If these conferences demand these things I'm for staying where we are.
