Standard PK drivel of him trying to take something out there, twist it, and stick it in the hearts of BYU fans. No surprise.



What he says is very true, the game, just on the basis of the game itself, does mean more to BYU fans because of how things have evolved (Puketah being invited to PUKE12 and BYU not). It can affect their desires for a national championship, but it doesn't affect them as much in their annual goal to make it to one of the big 6 bowl games. Yes, he notes that Puketah is more worried about their PUKE12 South match-ups to allow them to make it to the PUKE12 championship. I wouldn't disagree with that statement if you were simply looking at your schedule as a whole.



But that's not what football is all about. Where PK once again misses the boat on this is that it is still a rivalry game for Utah. Do you hear that PK? RIVALRY!



The Puke12 has tried to make the Colorado game their rivalry game, but I live and work around here in SLC, and yet after these five years, no one around here is looking to that game besides winning it. Rivalry's need more than what are the most important games on your schedule to make it farthest in the post-season. I disagree whole-heartedly that the game now means more to BYU than Utah. Yes, there have been a few seasons when playing Utah was on the high end of our schedule because we aren't in a G-5 conference, but that has nothing to do with Puketah or BYU fans not caring to the same degree. I'm feeling it all around me this week in both Salt Lake and Utah counties. That's the silly ASS (oh, I'm sorry, mistype, I meant ASU) graduate just blowing hot air, if that was seriously his deduction.



Flap your jawls all you want PK, but sorry no, Puketah has no other real rival than BYU. On that basis, their fans want to beat BYU more than other team. You can't live in Utah and not be concerned about that game. If we can get our boys to finally man-up and quit this ridiculous knee-jerk performance just because they are playing the school up north, and you'll possibly see Puketah officials try to get rid of the game once again. As is, with five straight wins, they can cackle a bit and they do, along with their buddy PK.

BYU will finally play to win Saturday. Taysom and Jswagg et al will run over, around, and through the Ute D. BYU will win big and lay the wood. This is BYU's year. The Ute defense is scratching their head this week.

One thing I know, if BYU wins it will not be big. It will be a nail biter. BYU hasn't blown out the utes since 96 and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

On paper the rivalry game may look more important to BYU but everyone, including PK (who increasingly looks like death warmed over with each passing year), knows it's every bit as important to Ute coaches, players, and especially Ute fans. I'm convinced nothing brings more joy to many Ute fans than a BYU loss. Even a Ute win.



As of said, PK knows this but is just trying to stir the pot.

With the departure of Greg wrubell, the KSL columnists aren't worth reading. I just read something by Alex Kirrey (SP?) that simply sucked, was a complete waste of time.

I've been asking myself that same question for a long time. I don't even bother to read his swill anymore.

He does. My first reaction was that he's still bitter at BYU, even though they are the ones that put him on the road to his career. But, as he's an actual Puketah graduate/player, well then, his reactions are understandable. We tried to Cougarize him and provide him a better education and career than pumping gas, but in the end, it finally wore off.
