Anae going in Texas Tech?

My brother heard from some poly friends of his that Anae could be heading to Texas Tech. Anyone else heard the same thing? It makes sense, but does anyone else have connections and have more info on whether or not he's going, wants to go, or even if he's interviewed? It seemed like their interim coach had a good chance of being named head coach, but I haven't heard anything difinitively.

If Anae goes to TT, then I want the TT offensive coordinator to come to BYU. Personally, I think BYU needs to take a step up with its offense, get a little more creative, less predictable, a little more daring. With our QBs, receivers, and talent, we should scare the pants off everybody we play.

Yeah, because what we're doing now clearly isn't working. Especially on third down.

I know, we've only be converting 51.2% or our third downs under Anae.

I love his offense, just not the fact that BYUtx and I can call the play before they even line up...literally. If we can do that so does the defense we play against-of course Anae and his players just out play them (unless it's really good teams)



However...I love the fact that BYU did get snaps off a few times before the De was set, which is usually isn't how the O rolls. Who could replace him? Doman maybe.



I think all our coaches get paid little and do more with less than any other place, so it's good for him to get promoted. Plus that's where I'm going (most likely) to grad school so it won't be as hard to cheer for them

Hmmm...that would be nice. I think a change is needed. I'm a little tired of vanilla, vanilla with sprinkles, vanilla with whip cream, and the occasional vanilla with a cherry on top.

Perhaps the lack of speed on the outside has limited the play calling? After watching BSU use speed on the outsides v. TCU last night, my eyes were opened. Face it, BYU was slow and plodding on the fringes. Of course, it would help if we threw more than 2 slants a game to a WR, right?

Anae won't be going anywhere unless it's for an HC spot. He's got a good thing going here in Provo. His job is mostly secure (even if the fans get on his case more often than they should), his son is just coming into the program and he's working for a perennial top 25 team. No other OC gig will pull him away unless maybe if it's for 3x what's he's currently making and even then, I doubt it.



I'm not saying Anae won't someday leave, I just don't think it will be anytime in the next four years, unless it's for a HC job and I just don't see many teams who would be willing to put him in that spot. I mean he's only been an OC for five years now. I know there are others who have ascended the coaching ladders pretty quickly but it's still rare that they do it before putting in lots of years working under other successful guys or running their own (lower division) team.
