I agree. I am seriously worried about the defense this year. Bronco Mendenhall's defenses spoiled us and the impression I get from fans, is that the defense is just going to be as good as always. If it is, I will be shocked.

Sitake defense last year at Oregon State didn't exactly put fear into the opponents. Bronco's usually did.

Well, sure, but that was Bronco putting in extra, not somebody else saving the defense from him.



If it's not his defense, then it's Tuiaki's, who learned under Sitake, or it's Lamb's, who took jabs at the way Bronco ran his defense.

It's Tuiaki's but who's going to save him if he is bad at being a Dcoordinator? Sitake? I don't trust him either. Lamb is a really good coach and may be able to do it, whether he made fun of Bronco's d's or not. lamb and Detmer are the only coaches on this staff who impressed me when they were hired.

The Whittingham "coaching tree" may very well be fools gold--the Whittingham products that have gone on to be successful elsewhere have been guys who Urban Meyer brought in and left behind when he bolted for Florida, not people Whittingham has brought in---look at the revolving door at OC.



Hoping Sitake bucks the trend.

It's all potential. He obviously has a high football IQ and everyone talks about how good he is at teaching the game. I feel it is going to take him some time to get things rolling though so I am expecting a few losses to start the season. I have a very pessimistic outlook on wins and losses this year, in fact if we win 6 games and go to a bowl game, I will be happy.
