Others Agree Gordon Monson is a Tool

So in retaliation, the Trib dropped all coverage of last night's game. And Steve Luhm tweeted that it is a "minor league" move by RSL. And people are calling Hansen (RSL owner) a bully?



Monson has always posted over the top negativity about local teams. And he expects there to be no consequences. He writes stuff like his column last fall titled "Is RSL being run into the ground?" in which he totally trashed the RSL owner both personally and professionally. I thought the RSL press release on it was funny. Monson doesn't need access to the players or a seat in the press box to write whatever opinion he wants to. And he has a conflict of interest anyway because he is employed by the radio station owned by the Jazz, who have not been supportive of another sports team in town (remember Larry Miller's efforts to prevent them from building a stadium?), and has a radio show co-hosted by the son of FORMER RSL owner Dave Checketts (Checketts must not be on good terms with current team ownership).

ha ha. This whole situation is entertaining. What an embarrassment for Monson, and I'm glad that someone finally had the cajones to call him on his garbage.

They are certainly in the "entertainment" industry.

RSL is well within their rights to not invite someone to their stadium who doesn't respect the organization. Monson doesn't need prime press box seats or access to players, coaches and RSL personnel before/after games to write what he does.

So it looks like MLS stepped in and made RSL reinstate the press credentials.
