Recruits in All American Games

None in today's Under Armor but BYU did get mentioned

An Oregon recruit WR named Blake: ESPN Said: "The ultimate do-it-all, catch-it-all possession receiver with great hands and sharp route-running skills. He reminds us of the great BYU receivers in the early 1990s. Not the fastest or quickest, but he is productive and a great competitor."

Ya, well our recruits are now all of those qualities.

Bronson Kaufusi is on the roster of the Under Armour game but his injury has prevented him from playing.

Stout plays later tonight in the offense/defense allstar game. I believe that game is on Fox College Sports tonight.

Why is Heaps even playing in an all star game? He is already enrolled in school. We know he is the best quarterback in the nation so why risk injury to play when he enrolled early for the sole purpose of playing springball.

Probably because it's fun and it's a once in a lifetime kind of thing. The kid has earned it, if he wants to play, let him play.

I think he just wants to bring more attention to BYU.

It would be a great way for him and Apo to talk to kaufusi about walking toward the light. So to speak...

And it will make him a better player. Being in the game also helps his recruit ranking. Rivals dropped his ranking because he did not play in their game.

I think it's great for Heaps to play. It's more reps against better competition. He'll have the chance to go up against some of the best high school players in the nation. The more reps he can get between now and the start of spring ball the better prepared he'll be. I think it's a smart move. I imagine they have hitting limitations so it's a great chance to get good, high-quality, game-like reps without the risk of injury.
