With Jimmer and Jackson maybe in/maybe out, it becomes a real crapshoot, rather than a SWAG. I'd say take the night off. (But if they don't play and JT goes off for thirty and/or Haws gets a triple double, remember you heard it here first).

Not quite 30 but he definitely played better than he has this year, shooting 6-7, 3-3. I'm becoming convinced that the kid is a "rich-man's" Mike Rose. TREMENDOUS asset against teams we don't need many assets to beat, and a huge liability against teams we do. Hmm. It's a pity, too, because the kid has such AMAZING court instincts (how else can a 6'6 kid lead the team in rebounds AND steals???). He's got the type of natural talent that hacks like me covet to no end, but his head is so big that his ego neutralizes those instincts because of poor decision making. Grr.

By the way, Tavernari played a different position this game, alongside Hartsock at Emery's usual spot. He looks much more natural and comfortable there.

Agreed. However, my fear is that he will also LOSE us at least one conference game,

I don't think JT will be the reason lose a game this year in conference because he is no longer a focal point of the team.



Last night was also JT's best shooting night since the 34-point win at Colorado St last year. It may have also been his best shooting night of his career.

Yes, but we've come to count on Hartsock's production and game much more than JT's. The bigger surprise was JT's excellent game. But yes, without Hartsock's effort in the first half BYU would have been in danger of getting run out of their own building.
