Taysom Hill changing to #7 to honor late brother

Taysom is switching from 4 to 7 for his jersey number. I guess that means Beau Hoge will end up with a different number since he wore 7 last year.

Does Hodge have to change his jersey number? My understanding of the rule is that you cannot have two players with the same number on the field at the same time, you can have 2 players with the same number. Is there any scenario where Hill and Hodge are on the field at the same time (other than warm ups)

Maybe Hodge should wear #4...

Usually when players have duplicate numbers it is when one is on offense and one is on defense. But I don't suppose this would cause a problem.

Yeah as long as Taysom and Beau are never on the field at the same time they can both wear #7.

So, we'll have to scrap that Doman play that had our top three QBs all in on the same play? Rats... ;)
