UVU - 86.67% ($10.4M in subsidies)

SUU - 73.66% ($8.1M)

Weber - 66.38% ($7.9M)

USU - 63.19% ($19.2M)

Utah - 14.09% ($8.8M)

I'm adamantly opposed to tax subsidies for state run athletic programs.

Why does Utah get any subsidies for sports? They are supposedly raking in the dollars from their P12 contract. $8.8 million is a lot of money. USU's subsidies are crazy high, wow! The state of Utah could probably get a extra million or two of revenue if their "Flagship" university wasn't afraid to play in-state football and basketball games.

And why is the subsidy 8.8M when they are running a profit--of about 3.8M? Don't know how :utard: accounting works, but at the most that should have been a $5M subsidy. :sick:

I absolutely agree with you. There is no such thing as free money. It comes from somewhere and we are the somewhere. It is taken from us to be used for something we may or may not agree with. If we agree with it we should donate it and if not we should make our own decisions about how to use the money we've earned.

I'm okay with it to an extent--I see it as a marketing expense for the university. Having said that, $8+MM a year seems like an excessive marketing expense.
