It has been reported that Taysom has been participating in some QB drills today as spring practice kicks off. Good news for Cougar fans.

Detmer also said that there wasn't going to be a starter named in Spring (only 15 practices)--fall camp is where the battles will take place.

He also noted Taysom and Tanner are going over the plays together--each is competing against himself, and neither is competing against the other.

Am I reading too much into Hill saying he's nowhere close to 100% yet still participating. Could this mean that he feels he could lose the starting job if he didn't compete before fall camp and feared falling too far behind?

Maybe. But why wouldn't a champion as he is do at least as much as he is cleared to and feels comfortable to do? Why would he sit till 100%? Not to leave out that he would want his mates to see him doing all he can as well. So, Ya, maybe.

I think you are reading too much into things. You do what you can without putting your recovery at risk. Taysom has just started jogging on dry land, so there's a lot he can't do, but most throwing drills aren't going to put his foot at risk, so that's what he's doing. I would expect the same out of any player, especially when we are installing a new defense and a new offense.
