2016 Non-Signings--went other places

WR Simi Fehoko - Stanford

DL Wayne Kirby - Oregon

OL Johnny Maea - Utah

TE Cole Fotheringham is sticking with Utah.

RB Tre Miller signed with Utah State.

DE Fua Pututau signed with Utah.

DE Bradlee Anae to Utah.

Former BYU commit Wayne Taulapapa (offer pulled under new staff) signed with Virginia.

Mique Juarez picked UCLA as expected.

Keaton Bills signs with Utah. That is all the guys that were being monitored. Sounds like the class is complete.

The toughest aspect was that we got so much closer toward the end with some of the Puketah recruits and yet they still fell to the darkside.

This one bothers me the most, but I won't lose any sleep over it. I don't like to see relatives of former BYU players falling over to the snares of Puketah. I can handle them going to USU and elsewhere, but you simply can't go to the rival foe of your family's team. I understand that some have come the other way to us, but at least those usually have the LDS tie-in and that becomes understandable, but anybody but that jerk team up north.

This is the aspect of the day that I was pleased about from Jay Drew's writeup:



"Perhaps the day's biggest pickup — counting guys who had not previously committed — was Alema Pilimai, a three-star linebacker from Tustin, Calif., who had committed to Utah last summer. BYU also beat Oregon State for Kearns running back Sione Finau and Kahuku (Hawaii) linebacker Hirkley Latu and Colorado for Keanu Saleapaga, a defensive lineman from La Mirada High in Southern California.



They managed to hold onto tight end Hank Tuipulotu, the son of former Cougars star Peter Tuipulotu, who received an offer from South Carolina last month."
