Found this while lurking around on rumorboard the other day. By the way, this was in response to Jonathan Tavernari posting to the forum. Someone should invite him over here, (where it happens to be much better format and dialogue).

Regarding format and end user interface

For years, I did not use my account here due to similar frustrations. I used a different site with an interface more intuitive to me. Problem was, they had a tiny user count and of you were not in synch with the "group think" you were the lone ranger and at times treated unfairy by the mods. The site owner got lazy and as podcasts became more rambling and unprepared, and the lack of original content neared zero, and they looked for people to blame, the lone ranger was banned.



The forced me to embrace the format here. I began to appreciate the diversity of opinion on here. No longer the lone ranger. Membership is so large that every point of view is well represented. No need to be absolutely the only guy defending Riley Nelson, or Robert Anae, or questioning the 2010 unproven Jake Heaps.



I have gotten used to the format. Notice the the headings ending with nm have no further content and do not need to be opened.



You will get good at quickly discerning which threads are a rehash of the same old tired smack, opinion, and trolling and jut skip those.



Facts are hard to come by any where, and true insiders scarce everywhere, but this is the best free site.



If only the trolls would leave or the sarcastic comments that detract would go away and fewer people tried to be clever by posting irrelevant attempts at video or photo humor.



Han with it. You will find ways to find value without devoting your life reading every single post.



Only 5% or less of posts on here are even slightly useful, but the amount of useful info on here exceeds any other free site.

Shame on Hawk, banning people because he lacks original content and podcasts. :D

Double negatives aren't not hard to master.

I wish we had more posters here, and more content, but it's hard. We have such a fantastic group of regulars and the quality of the content is 100X what it is anywhere else, it's just a matter of increasing that quantity while maintaining quality.



And at the same time we all have jobs, and families, and other things to keep us busy.

I for one am grateful for Hawkwing's efforts here. I lurk on that other board but post only a couple of times a year. It would be good to have more content and posters, but the quality is great here. The posters here are generally respectful. This is my online home for all of my BYU cougar addictions.

I'd rather miss out on being the first to know on something or other than have to wade through mountains of unsubstantiated rumors and trolls. But I understand that to other people being "in the know" is priority #1. I also wish we had more regulars, but quality posters seem hard to come by.

I hadn't seen him around for a while but didn't know he was banned. I don't have a problem with people that have other opinions--as long as they don't act like if you don't share their opinion you are an idiot and then try to make that clear every time they post.

But if you guys do want more content, I can make this site kind of like that one. I have a great imagination and maybe if I say something enough it will become true! BYU is in the Pac-24, BYU is in the Pac-24, BYU is in the Pac-24. Its so awesome being relevant now!

While on my ranch in California I got thinking about my home that I was remodeling in Hawaii. I thought I'd look something up on my iPhone 7 but then I remembered that every time I look at my phone I remembered of the difficulties of writing on it. Then I started thinking that all these two for ones were killing us and Holmoe was setting us up to fail! Does anyone know that these 2-1 are a terrible idea and Holmoe needs a better negotiating strategy? When I last ran my fortune 500 company I negotiated 1-2's everyday and twice on Sunday!



That about sums it up. Bib had some good points and I was kind of out of the loop when he dissapeared (banned?) but id guess it was for just not being willing to agree to disagree. Some of those battles were epic.



Did I mention the 2-1s are killing us?

IMO you should never be banned. You have suffered enough with just being a fan of TulaneVandyRice. Now if this were an Academic Decathlon forum, you would be King here ;)

How dare you out me!

On a daily basis, I go to CB for breaking news and some inside information. The honest truth though is that I very much dislike the general class of posters who have to be so cute and smug and there isn't anything said where there isn't one of them saying something that they think makes them look funny/intelligent/etc. I really dislike it, but there is just not enough traffic here to get the breaking news.



I used to live at TBS back when it was GMan and Zion's Lion (Brandon Gurney and Talo Steves) because it was a combination of what I love about Cougar Corner and what I get from CB. When GMan left for the DesNews things when downhill there. Couple that with the debacle when everyone was certain that BYU was going to be invited into the B12 any day and it turned out to be TCU, they lost a lot of their people that really had legitimate connections, some because they were some of the legacy contributors. Those left over were usually a few degrees above the manners of CB, but gone was a lot of the inside information.



So I found a home here and I like Cougar Corner because honestly the ill-mannered poster is not as prevalent, and I like the Man Updates and New Bites.



But, TBS has, with the arrival of Kalani Sitake, gotten some of those former posters back for the first time, and I hope it develops back into what they were before. Great recruiting data and honestly its informative to hear from those legacy contributors because they do get some "bang" for their bucks.
