This team is so frustrating to watch. And no, it's not all KC's fault. I really don't think this team can afford another regular season loss and expect to safely make the big dance. There's no more room for error. Win the rest of the regular season games or win the conference tourney. I would love to say that I'm blue goggled enough that it's going to happen, but I just can't.

You can blame that loss squarely on kyle Collinsworth and bad defense.



Lost possessions killed us. When we aren't playing defense (which, excluding the Gonzaga game is a pretty recurring theme for us) we rely on offensive efficiency to win games. Forcing bad shots and turning the ball over are crucially bad in those games.



As long as Kyle continues to play selfishly this team has a chance of losing to anyone they come on the court against.

KC played horrible that game. But overall he's had a good season. He leads the conference in assists! He can't be that bad. He is not a scorer! He's a great rebounder with good vision usually going up against smaller PGs. What we lack is leadership both on the floor and on the bench (ahem, Mr. Rose). Fischer is actually starting to stabilize a little bit. But Emery and Seljaas are playing like the Fr that they are. Penetrate and dish! Penetrate and dish! I agree that KC should have been molded after Kawhi Leonard at the SF position, but that's not exactly his fault is it? What we should be doing is clearing out the paint and letting KC post up the smaller PGs. But he's got to learn that he can't just drive to the lane with 4 defenders there and expect the refs to bail him out.



What I still don't understand is why Gonzaga in the second half stopped collapsing on KC. They did in the first half and it worked (plus he was in foul trouble).

Emery and Seljaas hardly played the last two games. If Rose was yanking people that were off then KC deserves a good hard look.



I get that there is a lot to be excited about with KC, but there is a lot to be disappointed in as well. At this point, we know who he is. He isn't going to surprise us with anything new. Guess what? Other teams know who he is now, too. So, it shouldn't be surprising when he gets shut down. I wish that we had more of a true passer and ball handler at point. It just isn't there with KC and I think the offense is off when he is gameplanned against.

Sadly, I think Calvert was that guy. If allowed to get some minutes and develop, I think he could have had great passing and ball handling skills with a decent outside shot too.

Calvert was great. I was shocked and upset when he transferred. Just another KC casualty. He has cost us some pretty darn good point guards thus far. I'm pretty soured on him, personally. I hope he steps up and looks to make his teammates better and realizes that his type of play is hurting this team.
