Texas Tech vs. New Mexico

Gotta hand it to the Lobos, they are looking very strong this season. They are up 20+ over the Red Raiders. Both teams are ranked in the top 20. It bodes well for the MWC. And BYU will have thier hands full when they go to the PIt to face NM.

Nothing but congrats to the Lobos. Hopefully UNLV can get and stay ranked throughout the rest of the season too. Good season so far for the conference.

One stat scares me the molst from this game. Well two actually, but they're related. New Mexico shot 43 free throws. FORTY THREE!!! Texas Tech was whistled for 31 fouls. And if there is one thing I. Know its that BYU won't get any calls in the Pit against a ranked team. Some stats to back up what I mean. BYU has shot 287 free throws this year. Our opponents have shot 304. Yet our opponents have been called for 28 more fouls. Yes it's true that BYU does "jack up a lot of threes" - .299 of our shots are threes vs .267 of opponent shots are threes. The fact is BYU is simply not getting to the line as often as our opponents. I really fear that we're going to get completely "homered" by MWC officials in the Pit and the Lobos are going to shoot another 40+ free throws against us.
