I heard he is a good athlete but too slow for TE. We will see. Is he a walkon? Will he play both sports?

So loyalcougars lists him as a walk-on. If he did play both sports he would miss spring ball because the baseball season runs from Feb 19 through the college world series at the end of June. I'm not holding out hope for this to be a major contribution to this year's team.

This signals to me that Ty Detmer wants to use a TE, which leads me to think his offense is going to look a lot more like what we did when he played here and less like the 4-5 WR spread sets 80% of college football is running today.

I wonder if this signals that Taysom will not be returning to BYU. A TE heavy offense is not conducive to a running QB.

After his latest injury, Taysom will probably never be a running QB again. Chad Lewis and JJ Diluigi are two guys who had similar injuries and were never anywhere near as quick as they were before.

If Taysom comes back, it's the first-half-of-Nebraska-throwing-darts Taysom, not the leaping -Longhorns-running-wild Taysom.

Nebraska game 1st half Taysom still ran better than anyone else on the field for either team, so I'd take that.

I believe in there being a distinction between a runner QB whose primary game is his running vs. a QB who can throw well but also happens to be able to run away from the defense when necessary (like Steve Young). Taysom must change from the first type to the second if he wants to last an entire season and have a shot at the NFL.
