BYU VS Harvard

What is it with BYU teams and terrible starts? Down 10-2 at the under 16:00 TV timeout. Team looks like they stayed out too late at the luau. Winner gets Auburn tomorrow and loser gets New Mexico. At this rate BYU will get their match-up with their old MWC foe the Lobos.

BYU down 31-29 at the half after trailing 19-3 early. Fischer a complete no-show in the first half. Another Utah kid, Corbin Miller from Brighton, trying to show that he was overlooked when recruited, has hit three 3's in the half. This team is so Jekyll and Hyde. Better wake up or in for another disappointing loss.

Man, the players must have decided it was on them to turn it around... ;)

I heard that in January BYU will begin each game with a pregame and each halftime with a free throw contest between random fans and each BYU player. Has anyone heard the winner's prize?

I think today's slow start is more due to the location and players tweeting how cool the beach was than anything else.

I'm a little frustrated with these officials.

Why can't they give the foul trouble information?

I didn't see the game. Here's some thoughts from the boxscore.



Immediately Fischer sticks out to me. 0-5 shooting, 0-4 3s, 4-7 FTs (WTHell), 4 points in 30 minutes.

-KC is right behind him. had 23 points, made 9-11 FTs, 7-13 overall, 7 TURNOVERS!!!!, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.



That was the best play we could get put together at the end of overtime? a KC 3? where is a real PG when we need him??? KC nearly dribbled the ball out of bounds and lost any chance at a desperation heave. Unbelievable loss.



Kyle Davis had another solid game 23 points, 16 boards, 3 TO. Nick emery appears to have played an "ok" game, 13 points, 5/12 shooting.



Edosomwan appears to be the big that did in BYU. I'm telling you, BYU doesn't know how to defend decent bigs. And Kaufusi fouls when he gets one on one. Corey Johnson and Corbin Miller appear to have figured out the weak sauce BYU zone and shot 9/16 for 3. BTW, corbin Miller from Sandy Utah is scoring at a frenetic pace of 6 points per game!!!!! He scored 17 in this one with 3 steals.



Ugh.

So, Harvard has 4 victories.

1. MIT

2. Bryant (who?)

3. Boston University (not to be confused with Boston College)

4. our very own BYU!

Fischer was as bad as everyone said. He played hard but Seljaas would have played over him if he had not fouled out.



KC had to do everything this game. He got a bunch of to's but no one was getting decent looks. So he took over.



Harvard D is pretty good disciplined man to man. And it seemed like they had a strength advantage at every position. So do we have a strength coach?



Emery's shot selection is still terrible but when he found lanes to the hoop he made tough finishes.



Harvard tried to play tall small forwards and Davis ate them up.



Harvard, especially Miller, he a lot of contested 3's.



In the end we were more talented but less disciplined. If we played again I think our talent would win out.
