Wow, total "step around" all issues and give cliche responses to questions.



I was very disappointed we didn't even get one assistant.



TH (paraphrasing) "We're going to do some things very different." Yet ZERO particulars. Come on guys, we need to be respected a bit more than this and be fed something other than coach speak and AD speak.

Gordon Monson asked the only question that really brought anything above canned responses as the called him a "bad man", which I understood him to refer to his passion for playing football. Something that we did feel was missing from CBM.

EDIT- Kalani has been on the phone with recruits, and that's 100% okay and the right thing to be doing. Glad to see him diving in.

You're right. It is just face-to-face that's precluded. I was sweating bullets for a bit there.

I'm not sure why you expected anything more in a 30 minute press conference from a guy that was hired 48 hours ago, doesn't have a staff hired nor in place, has yet to meet with very many returning players, has yet to put all the recruiting pieces in place, etc. Tough to talk very many specifics until a foundation is in place. I like seeing a bridge being rebuilt to the past without sacrificing what has been accomplished recently. I am excited for the future. Welcome Coach Sitake and Go Cougs!

With Bronco we at least knew about Anae. Did CBM have more time than LS? No, but too TH kind of pushed Anae on CBM and hopefully he learned. With all the official rumors, I imagine there are some on-board, yet not officially as an offer needs to be tendered.



I guess I expected that something would have been mentioned of the coaches that didn't go with CBM. I'm still saying I'm shocked that we've heard nothing of the Steve Kaufusi situation. Anyone seen something I've missed?

I'm fine with it. If they can keep what they are going to be doing differently a secret as much as possible it is only to BYU's advantage next year. I just want to see results.

My biggest issue from the press conference?



Kalani said he's been wanting to be a head coach for a long time, yet couldn't give any more specifics on type of offense or defense he wants to run, outside of "We're going to run. We're going to throw. And, hopefully, punt less."



I bet the "amazing" staff we've been hearing about, isn't quite coming together as planned.

I willing to wait for those details until after he has a DC and OC in place. I'd rather he get those hires right and then make those decisions rather than putting handcuffs on his potential hires before they've had a real chance to look at the talent on the roster and sculpt their schemes to fit what the athletes can do.

What was the purpose of today's press conference? Was it not to make a formal introduction of Kalani Sitake as the new head football coach at BYU? I don't understand why everyone thinks it was going to be a State of the Union address with a detailed blueprint of his term in office. I have no doubt that more specific details will come in due time. The guy was hired 48 hours ago and yesterday was the Sabbath to boot ;)

This is the entitled state of the BYU fan currently. They for some reason "deserve" all the infomation... right now.

I'm disappointed that KS was not in LV and helped plan for KWitt and meet the players. A one minute conversation with Bronco during the first quarter could have stopped the bleeding and we could had won and made recruiting inroads. Missed opportunity.

Just not with Canada...

Totally off topic, but what a completely unfair situation to put Canada in. Hopefully he has a short memory and has the kind of production next year that causes the most difficult to please Cougar fan to have a short memory as well :)

Totally off topic, but what a completely unfair situation to put Canada in. Hopefully he has a short memory and has the kind of production next year that causes the most difficult to please Cougar fan to have a short memory as well :)


No kidding. That really was an unfair situation. At that point in the game you hand off to a proven back like Algie or Bernard. They should've saved Canada until things calmed down more.
