Did Holmoe save Sitake announcement

To hedge his bets in case of a BYU loss? Press conference is on Monday to announce his staff. Oh, good. I was afraid I would have to work on Monday.

I'm sure he was saving it so as not to distract the team more than they already were before and still give the team an answer after the game so they can be a little more settled now. It's just a bonus that it takes the focus off the Utah win.

It's to take the salt out of the wound.



We can all "look forward" to a new staff.

Here's to hoping that Kalani builds on the foundation that Bronco (and Edwards before him) built. I'm sure there will be some bumpy moments.

I'm extremely skeptical about this hire. I just hope he is able to hire some dynamite assistants and runs the team like an administrator like Lavell did.

I don't believe Kalani is a better Xs and Os coach than Bronco. I don't know if he'll be as good at doing the other things that Bronco did (firesides, Thursdays Hero, etc). I'm pretty darn sure he's not gonna win as much as Bronco.



But...I'm not sure that matters. It's just time for there to be a transition. Give the people what they want, I guess.

I appreciate all that Bronco did, but he is now a Wahoo and I am ready for the Sitake era to begin. Excited to see who he brings on board with him. Yes the schedule is brutal next year, but I am glad Tanner Mangum will be the man to bridge this transition. No Chicken Little Syndrome from me. Welcome Coach Sitake and Go Cougs!

Amen. Between Broncos bungling and ANAE flipping BYU the bird with his horrible preparation it's time to get over yourselves and support the new coach.

I understand skepticism in this hire, but let's face it, there aren't a whole lot of people that were qualified for the position in the way the Church and school need them to be. They did the best in this hire that they could. Let's hope he puts together a stellar staff.

The wound referred to earlier in the thread was the loss, once again, to :utard:, or did you miss that?

Bronco left BYU. Let's not forget that.



Were there skeptics, yes. Were there grumblings, yes. But his job was secure. Bronco wanted more money and to play on a bigger scene and left. He was not chased out as some like to elude to. He had a job at BYU for as long as he wanted and Bronco doesn't want it anymore.



He doesn't want to coach your team anymore.



Will there be things about him that we all miss, sure, but don't ever let that get in the way of the fact Bronco walked away from BYU. Let's not be the divorcee wishing their ex would come back. That's pathetic and we're better than that.



Welcome Sitake! I look forward to you doing your best and hopefully taking BYU to new levels. I will give Sitake three years (lets not forget fans thought Bronco would fail and many didn't want him). Good luck, Sitake.
