Interesting tweet saying that a starter is claiming the coaching search has been narrowed down from 8 to 3 and suspended players WILL be allowed to play in the bowl game!

Let the interviews begin, and it sounds like he's willing to come home to be the D coordinator if he doesn't get the head coaching position.

I believe Squally Canada and Sione Takitaki have both tweeted that they will be playing.

In other rumors, Ken N. has decided to stay at Navy, and Kalani Sitake will be offered the job. He hopes to bring in his own DC as well.

Just saw a tweet saying that Kalani has been offered the position.

My opinion of this hire has changed since it came out that Anderson had not been contacted (which is to say, Anderson made it known he wasn't interested in the job).

Kalani is the best of the bad options we have. Won't be nearly as good as Bronco, but solid.

I've always thought Sitake could be good ... but my preference was Anderson. Of course Bevill was a fascinating choice (but we had nearly as much chance of getting Andy Reid as getting Darrell...)

Can someone explain to me the appeal of Sitake as HC? Everything he did at the U seems to be just a Whittingham shadow, his Oregon State D was awful, he has no head coaching experience, what qualifications make him a frontrunner for HC?

I sincerely hope that Stanford's Lance Anderson is still in the running - and available for the BYU "HC" position. I believe he is the best candidate to "take the con" and do a seamless job. Even elevate the Coug program and take it to the next level.

He's Mormon and he's coaching at the college level already. That right there gets you on the list.

Isn't he also assistant head coach at OSU?

Bronco came from OSU ... so that's a good omen, right? ;)

He is from BYU, I thought he did some GA work here before going to the U. Did well at the U, good recruiter, understands the recruiting landscape for BYU and teams in the West, has worked in the PAC and up north and those are the primary competitors for BYU recruits, so has some experience in that realm.

if you are going to require HC experience, then please remember there are 3 LDS HCs out there: KWhit, Bronco, and KN. Awfully small pool. KWhit would take a pay cut to come (even at $2mil per year), KN is well north of $1m right now (plus free use of a home and car) and his job is secure. By process of elimination we now must also have Sitake and Anderson in the mix ... don't know if either would be interested. So TH might have to dig deeper into his pool of 30-50 potentials (whoever they may be ... Ty Detmer?).

It shouldn't be too hard to see the interest in Sitake.

I don't know for sure what others mean, but what I mean by not seeing the interest in Sitake, I mean, I see why BYU would interview him, but I donât see why fans seem to think that he's the prettiest Belle in the Ball.

I've seen nothing from him to show that he's a special coach or recruiter. A lot of Utes went to Utah while he was there, but their recruiting hasn't dropped off with him gone, so I don't see that he was the cause. Also their defense has maintained with him gone, so, again, I don't see the enamoration of the fans over him.
