2010 Schedule

I had heard a rumor about a coming announcement. Maybe there will be a change to this. It looks like we open against Washington with Locker at QB. Tough first game for our new QB.



OOC include Washington, FSU, Nevada and USU.

This next year we could easily go 8-4 or worse.



I see losses, @FSU @TCU @UTAH and either Nav, and or Wash.

We lose player wise... Unga (99% sure on this) And Tonga, Max , Denis, George, Clawson/Hooks/Jorgensen/Bauman/Doman at LB, and maybe So'oto.



Overall we lose 20 Sr, and maybe a few Jr.



I think we COULD lose to either Nevada, OR Washington.



You gotta remember Nevada was missing its star RB's, and with Nevada we have a better chance if we have a strong passing attack, because they have been picked apart by passers this season.



With Washington, well that game is just crazy as locker is coming back, they only lose 15 people.

Univ. of Washington will be tough next year - really tough.

I'm not looking forward to that game.

It will be a real challenge.

Washington has a great recruiting class coming in for the Fall and Locker has finally figured out what a QB is. They should be much better next year in Sark's 2nd year.



I would not be surprised to find us unranked starting next year. If we beat UW, then that should put us into the top 20.

The big question is, which team will show up ? the team that beat Cal ? or that lost to Oregon ?

Trust in the system, the players are great, but Bronco's system has brought us 43-9 over the past four years.

The system does work but it will take a few games to get it going. Hopefully Bronco was able to get some work in with those guys who will be new starters next year. One of the advantages of bowl games.

Here is another for Utah St. They are not in the conference but we play them each year and it affects our RPI. Plus some of us root for them (at least I do most of the time).



Oklahoma, BYU, SDSU



If they were smart, they would get rid of BYU, Utah and Oklahoma from their schedule and try to get to a bowl. maybe they need those games to bring some money into the program and to get their attendance numbers up. I guess it is a balancing act.

At Oklahoma. I suspect that they don't want to play BYU anytime soon.

Ahh they played @oak I think it was 3 years ago, so yup $$$ and an easy win for OU.

Now, I know the Raiders suck, but are they really playing lousy FBS teams to come to town?

Now, I know the Raiders suck, but are they really playing lousy FBS teams to come to town?

They are willing to do ANYTHING to get to 500, even play my local highschool.

That comment doesn't have a whole lot of proof in the last few years. We've played and beat some pretty good teams in the first few games of the season each of the last few four years. I'm not saying it might not be the case this year, only that Bronco has proven to field a team ready to go in the first game of the year despite any losses from the previous year in all but his very first season as HC.



I point out specifically the job that he did in '07 against a strong Arizona defense while starting virtually an entirely new offense from '06. Or the job he did against OU this past year with all the question marks on defense and at OL. I just don't think there's any evidence to say that we need to worry about this team coming out ready to play at opening kickoff.



I do think we could lose 3-4 games next year but I see it mostly for a variety of other reasons/factors: TCU is the national champion IMO this year. They have dominated everybody they've played. Playing them again next year in Ft Worth with all but Hughes essentially back is not going to be easy. Playing against the pukes is never a guarantee even though I think we'll be the superior team next year, but I still think we were the superior team in '08 and the coaching was the difference in that game. I give all the credit in the world to the pukes for their season and their dominating win over Bama that year but I just don't think they had as much potential as BYU and nowhere even near their '04 counterparts. As for the other games on the schedule, I'm not ready to call FSU or UW losses yet. I just have seen enough to know that the parity between the haves and the have-nots is not sufficient enough to guarantee a loss to either of them even if we lose as much as we do or if we are playing on the road across the country. I still don't know how the crap FSU beat us this past year. I loved this year but the FSU game will always be a black spot on the season for me. The TCU game, even though I felt it should have been closer, I can live with based on how good they ended up being. But I'm still embarrassed that the Criminoles walked out of LES with a chunk of our brand new turf after the way both teams finished up the year.

Washington could be tough, but I'm not sure how good W is yet. I don't think they are world beaters just yet, and I don't know who they lose. I would still bet on BYU winning this game, at home, the opener (I think Bronco, Hill, Anae) have learned how to scheme winning the first games of the season.



Nevada had three 1000 yd rushers this year, two did not play in their bowl game, so they limped in and got creamed. But both 1000 yd running backs are gone next year, only the QB returns--maybe; and if it's not Kapernick, then it's Louks. I think we beat Nevada.



FSU could be a loss for us, but I'll bet they don't gain 300 yards rushing on us again, Hill will scheme for that. And if Heaps or Nelson, or whoever, is any good, they should show something by the third game.



Every year is different, especially next year with a new QB. But what if Heaps really is as good as advertised and he sets the world on fire and beats Washington and FSU? Woohoo, here's hoping.
