Merry Christmas everyone. I spent last Christmas on a Chinook heading back from Zerok Combat Outpost to Bagram Airfield. It was the first step in my trip home from Afghanistan. This year is SO much better than that!

Merry Christmas to all. It has been a great year for me on many different levels. This time of year only makes it better. This time of year is different for me now as I have children. Teaching them of the true meaning of Christmas has been rewarding. They are young but you can never start too early.

Merry Christmas Cougars!!! Isn't it amazing how children totally changes your perspective on so many things. Nothing brings me more joy than to hear my kids discuss the true meaning of the season. (Not even the Cougs victory over the Yewts ;) ) My son purchased a toy for his sister out of his birthday money (about a week ago). He did this while at school and with no prompting from his parents. He came home and gave it to his 4 year old sister. He looked up at my wife and said... "Mommy, I'm so happy because Christmas is about giving" I was a proud poppa that day I'll tell ya.

My warmest wishes to all of you this Christmas.



My public thanks to so many who sacrifice so much so I can enjoy the blessings I do.



My pledge to remember the season and be a help and example to all I meet.

My son returned from his mission on the 17th, and all 7 kids were home for Christmas. I am enjoying watching my children be parents to my grandkids--they are better parents than I ever was.



I was able to enjoy the bowl game with mys sons and son-in-law. It doesn't get any better than that.



I am at work making sure all the newborn babys are breathing, but the family will be joining me for lunch.

It has been a very merry Christmas season, indeed. In the spirit of Christmas, I will even extend a hand to Utah and say congratulations on an outstanding season and a great bowl victory to put an exclamation point to it! Here's to total domination of the Pac-10!



The conference is 3-0 in post season, with a real chance of 5-0. Not many give AFA a chance to beat Houston, but my heart tells me otherwise. Ithink AFA takes this one, not for logical reasons, its a matter of heart, and these guys have it in spades.



Go TCU! BSU is my would-be alma mater (long story as to why I never made it there), and I like them, but this is a matter of our conference breaking the egos of the BCS in every fashion possible.
