Granted there is still one more game to go on both home and away attendance. I'm hopeful for good turnout this weekend due to no home game for the past 3 weeks and it being senior night.
It is important to notice that while attendance rebounded somewhat thus far, it is only the 2nd season below 60k for home attendance since 2007:http://universe.byu.edu/2015/01/13/2014-attendance-at-lavell-edwards-stadium-the-lowest-since-19821/ " onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Why is that? My observations would be that the only home game to come close to a sellout was Boise State (255 tickets shy). In looking at the other home games, there isn't really another game that was conducive for road travel for their fans (closest being Cincinnati). Next year may improve that situation a bit with only half of opponents having long travel (Toledo, Mississippi State, and UMass) while UCLA, Southern Utah, and Utah State should all travel well (as much as SUU can).
I believe that TV availability continues to be a factor. But as the big name regional opponents end up appearing on the schedule I hope that will push attendance up a bit. And getting into a P5 conference with the schedule that would bring wouldn't hurt either.
