Some Mizzou players planning pregame, midfield protest

I've heard that there are some Mizzou players who are planning to hold a pregame, midfield protest against the racism of BYU at Arrowhead stadium. I doubt it will be broadcast on TV, but I'd be interested to hear reports from those attending the game if this happens or not.

Hope we crush them. This is one game where if given the opportunity, we should run the score up.

I'd like to keep this to just football and can the "extracurricular" events that don't have anything to do with that. In 1983 when we played Mizzou in the Holiday Bowl, since it was the 1st game ever between us and them, there was a lot of talk about revenge of the Mormons vs. the history of Missouri Governor Lilburn Boggs and his extermination order back in the late 1830's. I'll admit that I felt that same edge and I wanted to send the Tigers packing for more than just football.



Someone would really need to be unplugged from society to believe that it will ever be about just football. It isn't when we play Puketah and it won't be against Mizzou. This is just the beginning of a new season on "what's unpopular about Provo". If we've learned anything over this last decade, it is that the LGBT element is loaded for bear and they have us in their cross-hairs. There will be no end to the persecution now with them armed with our latest clarification of gay families. Oh boy, but this will become a rallying cry out there very quickly.

And the irony will only increase each we trust one of our minority players to go out and make a play---something we do frequently. This would be an awesome game for Blackmon to finally get a TD.

I sort of hope they do. I know if I were a player and I saw that, I would be itching to get on that field and make them pay. :evil: :evil: :evil: :evil:

All the more reason to take them to the woodshed, 59-0 style. I hope somehow that BYU finds a way to utterly demolish Mizzou.

I think BYU takes 'em by 35 to 13, or something like that. A local publication predicts that BYU's offense is good but average, and that their stellar defense is going to overwhelm the Cougar O, limiting BYU to 13 points. This is wishful thinking, unless BYU's OL is absent like last week. But our OL should be there in full force, especially Koroma. And BYU's D is the one that is going to dominate the most. I've got my fingers crossed for a shut-out.

I like the idea of BYU playing an SEC opponent but I sure wish they weren't involved in this circus side show. This story just keeps getting more bazaar. Someone with some sense needs to put a stop to the madness.

Who's going to reign them in? The prez they got fired? The coach who fully indulged his players? The non-boycotting players who have been castrated to show leadership and Moxy? The admin who has fully empowered the players to do whatever they feel expedient? The cowards who have cowered to the liberal media? The fascist media faculty who wanted the media out?

Tom Holmoe who offered to do whatever he can to help?

If you see a fan get arrested bc he booed and threw sodas at the disrespectful "boycotters" it will probably be me. What a joke of a university. What a joke of a game deal. We should go out and do the dam Haka midfield and elicit a fight.

Sorry guys. Not feeling very Christian if they turn their bovine excrement routine on BYU players or fans.

Due to the aggressiveness and the fact that tigers eat meat it is being suggest that the school mascot be changed. I have the perfect mascot for them.

BTW - I think it is hilarious that they are calling for a white out for the game but have pulled the white out shirts sold in the bookstore because of racial concerns. :roll:

I took the time to sign up on this board. I am a Mizzou alum (twice) and my hometown is Ferguson, believe it or not, but I live in Arizona now.

I want you to know there are many Mizzou alums who want BYU to pound Mizzou by 35, and I am one of them. What happened this week at a school I love was abysmal. Spoiled petulant children of the PC crowd have basically brought down the university and the sad part is, it was based on lies. No evidence exists on many of the allegations.

I am appalled and embarrassed. I will be wearing Blue Saturday. Go Coogs.

Salmonid - welcome! Thank you for taking the time to sign up and share your thoughts. You are welcome here - this is a great group of sports fans.



I would like to share my thoughts about what happened at u of Mizzou this past week. IMHO, it's much ado about nothing. It's the culture of today's "Leftie" world - endless and chronic victimhood and whining. They have no grievance - they embellish and imagine racism when it's nothing more than a snub - or just some idiot being rude and ignorant. They create fictional conspiracies and wind themselves up over nothing. It's NOT a reflection on Mizzou. It's a reflection on the political left who are chronic whiners and cry babies.



Best wishes to you Salmonid. And, I hope the Cougs kick the stuffing out of those cry babies. No offense intended. 8)

My favorite part of all of this is that the grad student who was starving himself complaining of "white privilege" is the son of a guy who made 8M last year. Don't get more privileged than that my friends. I don't care what color you are.



Also loved that the protesters asked "white allies" to leave while breaking into groups.

And the guys in the tents are not even students. They are the same agitators that went to Ferguson, Baltimore, New Yourk (and I mean Yourk as in they can keep it!), and South Carolina. They are paid by Georgi Poo Money Bags Soros (except they whined when he didn't fork over the money for Ferguson ha ha that's what you get from a person (and Jewish no less) that says his happiest days were during the time he helped the Nazis confiscate the property from the Jews in Hungary during WWII)

I am really looking forward to the Ferguson Tigers getting ripped by BYU. I really hate rooting against my alma mater, but I reckon there will be many other schools about to get the same treatment by these spoiled little brats. The blacks called this a peaceful protest, yet one of them was during the homecoming parade where little kids were standing. It was vile and rude. At that parade, the rich kid Jonathan Butler, purposely ran into the president's car and then lied that the car hit him. The other protest on the quad showed a faculty member trampling on a journalists 1st amendment right, while people were probably bringing the Butler rich kid food. What a sham. Go Coogs. Hang a half a hunnerd on the pansies. I wish Taysom Hill was not hurt.

While the return and healthy season of T. Hill was the #1 thing I was looking forward to this year (and it was taken away from us in one half of football), I do think that Tanner Mangum will surprise you if you haven't seen him play. Our passing game is at least a few steps forward from where it was last year.
