It's an interesting thought...but I'm not sure you'd do it with guys the caliber of Hill and Mangum. This is something I'd run with Mangum and Hoge when Hoge changes positions to slot receiver (he's too good of an athlete to not see the field more than he will as a backup QB, and BYU's pipeline is full of good QB's).

How about throwing it at Utah when we play. KWhitt would have a heart attack.

I know high school isn't the same level of football but I watched a team my nephew played against run this offense the entire game and I don't like it. I think it's a bad idea, there were several false starts.

BYU has been losing to the utes because their defense punches our offense in the mouth and our offense doesn't respond. The key to beating them will be for our offense to play physical and punch right back. The teams in 06, 07, and 09 did that. The offenses didn't. kwhit knows that he can throw our offense off its game by getting physical with them. I think Anae is teaching our guys to be more physical (all except Michigan this year). We will see what that translates into next year when we play them.

Two QBs in the game is an interesting idea, but it's got some serious weaknesses to overcome:

1) It's extra vulnerable to a blitz, because your QB without the ball is probably not going to do as well as a RB/FB at blitz pickup.

2) You'll need two QBs capable of both running and passing, or you won't get any advantage from the misdirection.

3) If you split your blocking scheme, half for each QB, it's a lot easier to get to each. If you don't, the defense can just read your blocking to know where the ball is going, maybe leaving one guy to defend the QB without a pocket.

4) If the QB receiving the snap isn't running out for a pass, you've lost an eligible receiver. It's much easier to defend 4 than it is 5.

And last but not least, a kwhit coached defense would never be fooled by such a gimmick, in fact it would probably hurt us more than help.
