The current goals for BYU are:
1. To go to a NY6 bowl game
2. To achieve the highest ranking possible
3. To win as many games as possible
4. To be bowl eligible and play the best bowl team possible
5. To be better than Utah
If you want to see these goals accomplished here is your rooting guide:
A. Cheer for BYU. Duh.
BYU over Wagner
B. Cheer for the team playing Utah. Because there is no reason to cheer for Utah
USC over Utah
C. Cheer for BYUâs opponents. This helps SOS.
Boise St. over Wyoming
Cincinnati over UConn (Cincinnati has a better chance of being a bowl team than UConn)
East Carolina over #22 Temple
Fresno St. over Air Force
Missouri over Vanderbilt
Nebraska over Northwestern
San Jose St. over New Mexico
UCLA over #20 Cal
Utah St. over San Diego St.
D. Cheer for teams playing teams ranked ahead of BYU. Also, cheer for unranked teams vs. ranked teams. If both teams are ranked cheer for the team with more probable losses in their future (Of course rules A-C trump rule D).
Rutgers over #1 Ohio St
Iowa St. over #2 Baylor
Western Kentucky over #5 LSU
#6 Clemson over Miami (For our very slim NY6 bowl chance we need the ACC champ to make the playoff)
Indiana over #7 Michigan St.
Tennessee over #8 Alabama
Georgia Tech over #9 Florida St.
Washington over #10 Stanford
Kansas over #14 Oklahoma St.
#24 Ole Miss over #15 Texas A&M (Ole Miss has a tougher future SOS than Texas A&M)
Texas Tech over #17 Oklahoma

UCF over #21 Houston
Virginia Tech over #23 Duke

E. Cheer for our Opponentsâ opponents unless they are playing our opponents. This helps our SOS in virtually every SOS calculation. The more connected a team is to our opponents the more you should cheer for them (unless it violates rules A-D). For example, UNLV is the most connected team to our opponents as they play 5 games against them (UCLA, Michigan, SJSU, Fresno St., Boise St.). The number by the team indicates how connected they are. If the numbers are equal take the team who has lost or will most likely lose to our opponents.

Southern Miss over Charlotte
Army over Rice
Arkansas over Auburn
Navy (2) over Tulane
Miami (OH) over Western Michigan
Virginia (2) over North Carolina
Illinois over Wisconsin
Maryland over Penn St.
Arizona over Washington St.
South Florida (3) over SMU
Nevada (3) over Hawaii
South Alabama over Texas St.
Miss St. over Kentucky (Miss St. has a tougher future SOS than Kentucky)
Oregon St. (3) over Colorado
F. Root against teams that could potentially be ranked ahead of BYU. Root for the ACC champ to make the playoff. Root for the weakening of the Big 12 to force it to expand (unless it violates rules A-E)
Texas over Kansas St.
NC St. over Wake Forest

G. Cheer for the FCS team. Because it is fun (unless it violates rules A-E)
H. It really doesnât matter
