1. To go to a NY6 bowl game
2. To achieve the highest ranking possible
3. To win as many games as possible
4. To be bowl eligible and play the best bowl team possible
5. To be better than Utah
If you want to see these goals accomplished here is your rooting guide:
A. Cheer for BYU. Duh.
BYU over Cincinnati
B. Cheer for the team playing Utah. Because there is no reason to cheer for Utah
Arizona St. over Utah
C. Cheer for BYUâs opponents. This helps SOS.

Utah St. over #21 Boise St. (If Utah St. wins out they could be ranked when we play them, plus BSU will likely need 2 losses for us to pass them)
Fresno St. over UNLV
UConn over South Florida
East Carolina over Tulsa

Nebraska over Minnesota
San Jose St. over San Diego St.
Wagner over St. Francis
D. Cheer for teams playing teams ranked ahead of BYU. Also, cheer for unranked teams vs. ranked teams. If both teams are ranked cheer for the team with more probable losses in their future (Of course rules A-C trump rule D).
Penn St. over #1 Ohio St.
West Virginia over #2 Baylor
Iowa St. over #3 TCU
#5 Clemson over Boston College (Need the ACC champ going to the playoff for our slim NY6 hopes)
#6 LSU over #8 Florida (LSU plays more ranked teams down the stretch than Florida)
#9 Texas A&M over #10 Alabama (TAMU has 2 ranked teams left on the schedule. Alabama only 1)
Louisville over #11 Florida St.
Memphis over #13 Ole Miss
USC over #14 Notre Dame (ND can't take up an at large spot in an NY6 bowl)
#20 Northwestern over #17 Iowa (Iowa doesn't have many losses left on the schedule)
Kansas St. over #19 Oklahoma
Eastern Michigan over #22 Toledo
Tulane over #24 Houston
E. Cheer for our Opponentsâ opponents unless they are playing our opponents. This helps our SOS in virtually every SOS calculation. The more connected a team is to our opponents the more you should cheer for them (unless it violates rules A-D). For example, UNLV is the most connected team to our opponents as they play 5 games against them (UCLA, Michigan, SJSU, Fresno St., Boise St.). The number by the team indicates how connected they are. If the numbers are equal take the team who has lost or will most likely lose to our opponents.
