USC should work with him. And throw a TON of money at Whittingham.

If I'm SC that's what I'd do, but if I'm whit, I wait (of course enough money maybe changes things). LA is not an SC town. If is not like Columbus or Ann Arbor where there's one team. LA is UCLA too and coming in fresh with an ascendant UCLA is a tough gig to take on

If USC does approach Whittingham about a job - I would not even consider it. My brother got his degree from USC. I've spent a lot of time there on campus and the surrounding area. It is a dump. A crap hole. There are lots of other schools to coach at besides USC.



It sounds like Sarkisian is an alcoholic. He needs to get help.

The irony of it all is that SC, the private expensive school, borders Watts, and UCLA, the public school, is in Westwood, bordering Beverly Hills.

I don't think whit ever leaves and if he does it'll be because of Chris Hill. The U would be crazy to not fire Hill first if the relationship came down to it.



It'd be fantastic if it happened but I don't see Whitt leaving until he retires.

Bummer for Sark. One of my favorite BYU QBs.

Some things are far more important than football, and for people with an alcohol problem sometimes it takes things that are huge and life-changing to get them to realize they need help. Hopefully he can get rehabbed and back on track with his life.



Just glad it is happening for him this way, getting fired is a much better "reality check" than, say, driving drunk and killing somebody.

I'd argue bigger issue is the divorce.

Rumor is that is was more than alcohol. I don't know.

USC is a private institution. Utah isn't. That could limit how much "Dr." Hill can throw. USC also has a known history of rich donors throwing money at coaches. I don't see Utah donors stepping up in the same way either.



USC would win any bidding war with Utah. And Whittingham just last offseason pitted what leverage he had to get a raise. Now he's going to come back just one year later and ask for a second raise in as many years?
