Positives TIC

There'll be no debating whether the offense or the defense lost the game.

Our offense is extremely balanced. At half we have 38 rushing and 37 passing.

If you add in our penalty yardage, we break 100 yards.

No more ESPN distractions with interviews etc. to interrupt class schedules.

Pope visit to Phili will overshadow our walloping.

No Nick Howell to kick around.

Sigh. I'm still a Cougar but the beat down is painful.

Bronco called his first timeout in the second half with only 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter, instead of 2 minutes into the second half? Kind of reaching here...

BYU found out it can keep its defense on the field all game long?

Ryker doesn't have to apologize for the loss.

BTW Brayden, in a different thread you said Utah manhandled Michigan. That's not the game I saw. The two teams played a very close very competitive game. Utah capitalized on some turnovers and that was the difference.

I'll say it again. A fan should be pissed and disgusted about what we saw today. But that doesn't mean they're no longer fans. They just don't like seeing their team humiliated on national TV. But, hey, if you find it easy to roll with, good for you. You're delusional, but good for you.

You are right. I thought about it after I posted that. Manhandled isn't the right word. I was thinking more in terms of the offensive line that manhandled Michigan's very good defensive line and provided protection and running lanes. Michigan barely escaped with a win, and if their Hesiman-looking quarterback (against BYU) could hit an open man, MIchigan would have won that game running away.

Some silver linings I found:

- Hannemann didn't look completely awful.

- Carter continued to be consistent - consistent at showing he's not a D1 back, but at least he's #1 on the depth chart.

- Mangum showed toughness by willing to take a sack instead of throw the ball away.

- BYU allowed Michigan to play well enough so the broadcasters could spend plenty of time talking about how awesome Harbaugh is.

- BYU had more sacks against Michigan than Utah.

Another positive:

- I don't feel bad this week for skipping the UConn game to go see "The Martian" with my wife.

I could be wrong but no turnovers, and the defense did stop the fake punt, which by the way was completely classes to do when you are up 31-0 and the other team has the look of a JV high school team.

The punt game was solid. Our punter didn't change a punt call to a fake-punt call.



AND, we didn't lose our 3rd and 4th string running backs to injuries!

Samson didn't miss a single extra point or field goal attempt. The quintessence of perfection.

There was one positve over looked BYU had no turnovers. Of course BYU probably wasn't on the field long enought to tuen the ball over. BYU didn't cause any turnovers either like in the first 3 weeks.

BYU didn't burn the redshirt of any back-up QBs.

Don't know if this has already been mentioned, but we don't have to play the "what-if" game about UCLA all year long.
