Playing the what if game.

I know the saying "if ifs and buts where candy and nuts...." Having said that, I was just thinking if we had a healthy Taysom Hill and Jamaal Williams, this team is undefeated right now and I don't think any of the games would have even been close. Tom Holmoe has stated that this years schedule was set up purposely for Taysom's and Jamaal's sr years and now we don't have either of them but the team still looks competitive.

Agreed. We'd be undefeated and ranked in the Top 10. We'd be favorites in every game remaining and everyone would be talking about how BYU might just be in serious contention for a playoff spot.

Add Tuiloma in to that mix and I'd be there with you. Unless Taysom and Jamaal were any better at stopping UCLA's rush I'd be uncertain about that game.....

With Taysom and Jamaal, BYU scores way more than 23 pts in that game. even with UCLA's rush, the defense is good enough to win that one.

I can understand the "ifs and buts". However, I have been blown away with the team's performance considering the key injuries/missing players. I am saddened by the fact that we will never see Taysom Hill become what he could have become. I don't mean to disrespect T-Hill in any way, in fact, I think the team should have little #4's on the back of their helmets, but that's neither here nor there. Anyway, no disrespect meant, but I am more excited about watching Tanner Mangum than Taysom. I am quite young so the first football season I cognitively remember is the 2006 season. John Beck was the QB back then and BYU had quite the passing game going with big ol' Johnny Harline and some serious WR talent. Since then, I haven't been as excited about any quarterbacks. Sure, there was Max Hall, and he was good, but he just didn't get me psyched for every game like Beck and Mangum do.



Again, no disrespect to Taysom. He is one heck of an athlete. Yes, BYU would easily be 3-0 with him.

What if UNLV is BYU's bad luck charm? UCLA played them very poorly the week before BYU played UCLA and the cougs lost. Last week Michigan played UNLV and they didn't blow the doors off, and this week BYU plays Michigan so.....?
