UNLV hires Bobby Hauck

Finally, UNLV hires somebody who can coach a team.



Hauck has gone 80-17 as the head coach at Montana, with three national championship appearances. He's a Neuheisel protege, so look for a balanced, yet prolific offense.



Good get for the Rebels.

They also hired an SC legend coach which didn't work out. I'm expecting a bit of that, but it's hard to do worse than the last guy...can't even remember his name (same with rebel fans)

Hauck got to three national championships, and lost all three, in a row. I have no idea what it means, but he's probably a pretty darn good coach. Does that equal success at UNLV? I doubt it, but only time will tell.

Didn't Wyoming hire a Montana or Montana St coach who had all kinds of success at the D-1AA level? Success doesn't always translate. And with BYU, TCU and Utah in the conference, UNLV will be hard pressed to ever win or compete for a conference championship.
