Did Hauoli Jamora De-commit??

TBS doesn't have Jamora listed as "Committed to BYU" anymore and now his interest level is listed as low. Que Pasa??

Yep. He's taking a few visits and looks like he'll be heading elsewhere.

I heard he decommitted 5 days ago, but it is unclear why. Perhaps there are other issues we do not know about. He would be a good addition, but if he goes elsewhere, this class is deep enough and has enough talent on the D line to compensate for his loss. Schwenke is still the higher rated player of those 2.

I'd like to get Jamoura, but with DT's Tuni Kanuch, Jordan Afo and Travis Tuiloma and DE's Kona Schwenke and Bronson Kaufusi (the best of all our DL recruits), we should be fine. Especially with Eathyn Manumaleuna coming back off a mission, Vic So'oto (in all likelihood) getting a 6th year, Fuga, Putnam coming back, and guys like Devin Mahina, Magnum Mauga and Famika Anae coming off misisons, we'll be fine.



Ricky Heimuli would be icing on the cake.



Another thing to point out that we don't need great DL's-just serviceable ones. Anything beyond that is just gravy. Of course, that's assuming we stay in the 3-4 and that our LB's contribute and DB's are sufficient.

It's distressing to lose anyone - injuries always happen. It's an unfortunate given. I hope it's just a "thang" he's going through & will find his way "home."

Thing is, a lot of the DL guys committed will most likely end up on the OL... guys like Kaufusi, Kanuch, Fabuluje, etc. So it still would be nice to have Jamora. Maybe the coaches can still convince him to come and join the fold. And the win last night certainly has to help show he could be playing for a top ten team with a top ten recruiting class coming in.



I must admit though, I don't like it when these kids commit when maybe BYU is the only one recruiting them but then thing they can do better later on when they start garnering other interest. Giving their word certainly doesn't mean as much to the younger generation anymore.

Kafusi wont be helping us any next year. He's healing from a severe knee injury and is heading on a mission even before suiting up. Our DE's HAVE to improve next year to help apply some more pressure to opposing QB's. The return of Afutiti would be much appreciated. From what I read Tayo Fabuluje might make a MONSTER of a DE.

If last night's game doesn't rekindle his interest, then he's not Cougar material.



I will wish him the best knowing someone better will end up taking his place. It's the Bronco Way. ;)

Thank You Hauoli for opening up a scholarship for a JUCO LB, DT, or Safety... We've had better luck with them than the undersized defensive ends out of high school.

btw- I don't know where anyone is getting their info, but Bronson Kaufusi is not going to the offensive line.... He's a stone cold killer ala Jason Taylor, Julius Peppers at DE.

Hey, Malosi's still a good kid, (I went to school with him, and he's actually somebody who genuinely cares for others than himself, I mean other than his meltdown senior year which is the reason why he went to hawaii to live with his cousins and play down there and why his high school is not listed as American Fork HIgh School.) But as I said from knowing him from high school I really doubt he turned out to be anything like his relatives... I know you were speaking in general's but I'm just saying he's probably somebody right now who doesn't like what his cousins are doing with his family name right now and probably doesn't want to be put in the same category with those guys, but as I said I know you're just talking about the other 2 (maybe just 1, since it was never confirmed about that Irish loving one.).
