- BYU has met the 135 PER Standard in both games this season. It is the first time since 2009 the Cougars have met the Standard in the first two games of a season.
- BYU only gained six first downs via the pass. The fewest since having two such first downs against Nevada in 2013.
- Boise State only gained two first downs from running the ball. The fewest such first downs BYU has allowed since Hawaii had one rushing first down in 2011.
- The Cougars already have 15 plays of 20 or more yards. It wasnât until the fourth game last season that BYU had their 15th play of 20 or more yards.
- BYU has won four of their last five and seven of their last 10 games as the underdog. (UCLA is currently favored by 14.5 points).
- Mangumâs PER of 162.70 ranks as the ninth best PER for a BYU quarterbackâs first start since Marc Wilson.
- It also ranks as the second best (of eight) PER in a start for either a freshman or red-shirt freshman. The best was Bret Engemannâs (RS FR) 180.85 against Virginia in 2000.
- BYU won the PER battle by 32.75 points. The team with the better PER has now won seven of the last eight games.
- Bronco improved to 4-1 (.750) against teams wearing a black helmet.
