Devin Mahina Waived by Redskins

LOUDOUN COUNTY, Va. – The Washington Redskins announced today that they have made the following roster moves:



The Redskins placed the following player on the team’s Reserve/Injured list:

TE Chase Dixon

CB Tajh Hasson

LB Alonzo Highsmith

CB DreQuan Hoskey

WR Tony Jones (designated as injured)

K Ty Long

TE Devin Mahina

G Bryce Quigley

CB Trey Wolfe

The Redskins terminated the contract of the following player:



CB Bryan McCann

T Willie Smith

With the moves, the Redskins’ active roster now stands at 75 players.

This comes as a surprise, because the Skins have been decimated at TE this summer.

Too bad, hopefully he lands somewhere. Like we've discussed in previous threads, even a practice squad spot or a CFL roster spot are not a bad payday.

Well, the 'Skins are the paragon of quality talent assessment and roster management, so I'm not sure this is a very strong indictment of anyone's potential or lack thereof.
