Suspensions

Any word on the suspensions for Nebraska? I wonder if Bronco will spread out the brawl suspensions over the course of the year? Like none in the buzzsaw that is September, but several for Wagner?

Bronco said suspensions will be announced after the Nebraska game.

I thought I read a tweet where Bronco said that he wasn't sure there much more punishment he could add that wasn't already doled out.

He did also say that.

Rumor board was all over it yesterday saying Langi was a half and Nacua and Day (or was that Lake. Can't remember) for the game. Not sure what the source was.

Unfortunately Bronco would never do this, integrity first, because if he did anything different than his whole "football is 5th" would have no meaning.



I really wish we knew how many suspensions there will be. The two obivious are Koroma and Nacua. Do we know of anyone else that was heavily involved in the brawl?

Depth chart shows Nacua playing Saturday.

Koroma will not be suspended. And like Sno says, both he and Nacua are on the depth chart. Does that mean they'll play, maybe no. I wouldn't be opposed to a Nacua suspension, because he had a chance to walk away, and didn't. Koroma had no chance to walk away.

Maybe I am just on a high horse but after listening to Christian Stewart interview on BYU Sportsnation, I didn't think we should suspend anyone. His opinion was that a brawl was going to happen and nothing any BYU player could have done to stop it. He said the chatter from Memphis all game indicated they were out there to fight.

This is what I was thinking as well, but you just never know how Bronco is going to react. I never thought Koroma should be suspended, he was protecting his QB.

Koroma will not be suspended. According to @byupractice who seems to be pretty dialed in, Nacua, Takitaki, and Dye are suspended for that game and Langi is suspended for half of the game.



Bronco said today that he wouldn't suspend anyone any more at this point if it were only up to him. He feels anybody suspended has already been punished enough.

Not sure the logic behind suspending a guy (Koroma) who gets ganged up on by 4 memphis players. What was he supposed to do? Macau was just being a hothead. I'd be ok with his suspension

BYU LBs coach Paul Tidwell said JLD will start at ILB on Sat., then move to OLB in the second half. Probably means an ILB suspended 1st half



This sounds to me that perhaps the rumors about Langi being suspended for a half may be true.

The other half of that change is that with JLD playing ILB for at least the first half, junior Sae Tautu (backup behind Takitaki and JLD) will likely start at WLB. Sophomore Fred Warner is the starter at SLB and is backed up by walk-on freshman Scott Huntsman.
