Bigger win than Oklahoma.... This is huge

OSU was supposed to have the speed to make us remember Florida State.



OSU had a 5-0 bowl streak going.



OSU had the all american Rogers boys.



We beat them in every aspect of the game. If #4 had played a little smarter in the 1st half, we could have scored nearly 50.



I am soooo sad I wasn't there in Vegas for an awesome sports day.

Max Hall just cemented his legacy



This easily goes down as a top 10 season in BYU football history.

Great season indeed.



If you had told me that we would have beaten Oklahoma, beat Utah, and annihilated our bowl opponent, I may have expected a little more, but this has been a terrific season nontheless.



And the fact that one of our only two losses was to a Top 5 team (possibly #1) makes me feel much better about it.

I wish we wouldn't switch into this "mercy" mode towards the end of the game. If OSU scores here, the final score will not even come close to demonstrating what a blowout this was.

I turn on the game a little late, but it was when OSU went in for their first TD. They made it look easy and BYU was looking pretty inept. I almost went to bed. I'm not feeling well, but my 14 y/o was sitting next to me all excited for the game. OK, I stay up a little bit longer.



I'm not so tired now and feeling a heck of a lot better. :lol: :lol: :crazy: :crazy:



I also loved it the way the commentators heaped all sort of love upon the team.



Now if Utah wins tomorrow, it'll be three out of three of the MWC against the PAC-1 in bowl games.

Were was the man to man D all year long? I loved the D tonight. The D was so much fun to watch. This was a great way to send the senior out in style. Go COUGS!!!! :crazy:

I don't see how OSU stays ranked...but a 20 plus win over the team that ended the regular season as #18 is a top 10 win for the program

I wouldn't say it's Bronco's biggest win, but certainly in the top 3. I'd say Oregon in 2006, Oklahoma this year and now this game all rank up there.



This puts this team in the top 7 or so of all time BYU teams.



And Bronco now has a winning record in bowl games.

Great win. Our guys came to play. I think one lesson we can learn from this season is that emotion matters. We have played so well when the coaches stoked the emotion in our guys.



What a great season. Max Hal will be remembered fondly by BYU fans and will be the most hated BYU football player ever by ute fans. I am glad to see him and all the seniors go out with a bang. Our D was phenomenal!

Craig, I agree about the impact of this game. It's huge. It was not at all close, but an old fashioned, bona fide butt-kicking :crazy: . It neutralizes the critics' claim that BYU has not won any big games. They have confabulated quite a bit to try to take Oklahoma away from us, and so this is wonderful to see the Cougs so thoroughly dominate a ranked BCS program that finished toward the top of their conference.



How about that Cougar D? It was supremely satisfying to see the tight coverage and ferocious hits. I had said on Cougarblue that BYU's defensive secondary unit was going to be the dark-horse in this game. They have been improving steadily all season, and were likely to be as under-estimated by OSU as they have been by the media. I loved the 4th down stops and the stop of the faked punt. Oh, and on replay, I do not think that Scott Johnson's helmet impacted the receiver's when he was penalized for that. But it was an awesome hit. The entire BYU bench celebrated joyously on that one. I loved the way these Cougars cheered each other on tonight. There was powerful camaraderie and unselfishness among friends. Ya gotta love this team.



Much was made of this QB match-up, with the media seeming to favor Canfield. Max blew him away, and now can take his place among BYU greats.



Much was also made of how team speed would take us down---Say again?



We've won three out of five Las Vegas Bowls, which is also Bronco's bowl record.



I think that this win could put BYU as high as 6th or 7th in the finals polls. Certainly the Cougs should be no lower than 9th. This should continue to reel in the top recruits.



I am so happy for the team, especially the seniors, that it has ended this way. And this is happy for me as well. I'm off to California to visit my daughter, and now I can euphorically wear my BYU gear to rub it in for the PAC 10 fans down there. :D :D :D :D This is bragging rights, folks for a whole year over the PAC 10 :evil:.

If OSU doesn't stay ranked, it's because we destroyed them. That doesn't diminish the accomplishment.

not bigger than Oklahoma. That was practically a okie home game and a legitimate #3 team. If Bradford doesn't go down during our game (they'd still have lost to us of course!) their season is night and day different and that quality win wouldn't have shrunk on our schedule like it did.



Oklahoma has lost some big games in the past so it's not their worst loss, but it might have been our best win. And yes, better than beating Pac-10 number 5 that was almost Pac-10 number 1.

that first 5 minutes, I was so mad, us kicking into the wind, with how bad our kicks normally are, but I guess it worked out ;) also those 2, 6 yard punts =D

Ditto!! Bam!! Yes!!! I could only catch bits & pieces as I was working tonight & I kept

getting pulled away. But - what a game!!!! I was actually nervous about those crazy Beavers - I was concerned about their speed. But - Bam!!! We put some serious Bam - Bam to them!!! Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!! Merry Christmas!!!

Yeah, also it depends on if Oklahoma destroys Stanford in their bowl game. If so, OU will likely be ranked in the final poll. OSU and OU might be ranked next to each other. In my opinion, I'll take the OU win anyday. OU was an away game and OU had their Heisman winner. Pac-10 is way over rated. OU is a legitimate title contender each year, Oregon State is never a title contender.

I agree, but the biggest reason was the wind, the DB's and coaches knew they couldn't be burned deep which allowed them to play closer and tighter. Another thing the wind did was take away the short underneath crossing route over the middle because the LB's were able to play a couple of yards closer to the line taking away that play.

We just dominated the PAC 10 team tied for second place and about one or two plays from having gone to the Rose Bowl. How many points did this team put up on SC? It was 30+...Game balls to the D they were superb and to Pitta--that one one-handed catch to keep the drive going was huge. And what a way to go out for Manase! He looked faster! Or maybe he just made the Beavers look a lot slower....
