Oregon became the 33rd state on February 14th, 1859, a rather brash effort to capture Valentine's Day hallmark card pioneers if I might say.

The capital of Oregon is Salem. No witches are burned here but people do burn really ugly Duck uniforms. Basically, there are fires burning all the time.

Oregon's Crater Lake is the deepest lake in America. It is deeper even than the uniform designer for the Oregon schools

Oregon has no self-serve gas stations. The idea is to provide jobs for former Beaver and Duck football players who aren't quite bright enough to master the phrase "fries with that?"

Oregon's state nut is the Hazelnut. This decision was made before Mr. Blount entered the state of Oregon to play football.

The town of Boring, Oregon was named after the citizens there watched a season of Oregon State football.

The Columbia Gorge Interpretive Center contains the world's largest collection of rosaries. Not sure why, but they are probably collected from Beaver fans and their dashed hopes for a Rose Bowl berth.

The state motto of Oregon is "Alis Volat Propiis" This is Latin for "I have an alibi for that joint."

B- Isn't Lake Tahoe the deepest lake in America?

Crater Lake was apparently formed by a collapsed volcano, but is a lake. It is the deepest in the United States and the second deepest in North America (Great Slave Lake being the deepest and most racist).
