#5 BYU-BSU. The other 9 games are P5 teams.

I love the BYU/BSU rivalry. I wish BYU would play BSU, Utah St., Utah and Hawaii every year. I think those games make sense for regional, recruiting and historical appeal.



It would be great if every school had a nonconference rival.



Florida/FSU, SC/Clemson, Kentucky/Louisville, ND/USC, ND/Stanford, Cincinnati/Miami (OH), Iowa/Iowa St., TCU/SMU, New Mexico/NMSU, AF/Army/Navy, Georgia/GT already exist.



Others that should be a no brainer:



WVA/Pitt, Texas/Texas A&M, Oklahoma/Nebraska, Kansas/Missouri, Maryland/Virginia, Colorado/CSU

Holmoe was going for this, but Hawaii and Utah backed out. But, we finally land this schedule in 2017 and 2018. Hopefully we can get Hawaii and Utah to agree to more games in 2019 and 2020 and thereafter.



However, the rotation is backwards, IMO. In '17, we get both Boise St. and Utah at home and USU and Hawaii on the road. In '18, Boise and Utah are on the road and USU and Hawaii are at home. It would be better to have Boise at home and Utah on the road in the same year and vice-versa the next year. Also, get USU home, Hawaii road in the same year and flip it the next year.



If Holme works the schedule to get all four as annual opponents and finish the season at USC or Stanford - BYU will have a pretty sweet template for its schedule. That will mean 2 or 3 PAC 12 opponents in September, plus 2 or 3 from the B1G/SEC/ACC. Sprinkle in some more AAC and MWC and we're set.
