Unga - One More Year!

Come back Unga! He can be the 10th player in NCAA history to post four 1,000 yard rushing seasons. He'll be on the list with Tony Dorsett, Ron Dayne, Cederic Benson, and a bunch of other no-namers...



That would be a pretty cool recruiting tool to have.

Don't see it happening.

He is gone, barring something HUGE he is gone.

I don't see why so many think Unga is leaving. I don't feel he will be a high round draft pick and has a good chance of going undrafted should he leave now. I hope he stays.

The only reason for him to stay would be for him to play FB which would be his Pro position.

What possible benefit would there be to his staying (from a football perspective)? Another solid year of stats going to improve his draft stock? Doubt it. Go Harvey, and good luck.

If Harvey returns, he returns as a runningback, which is where the team needs him. Playing FB will not help his draft stock--no one drafts FBs any more, and the coaches aren't going to make a move that puts the team in a worse position because a player believes (mistakenly) that playing a niche position in college will help his stock later on.



The scouts have enough film on Harvey blocking to rate him as a FB. He is gone.

You're probably right, but Harvey isn't going to improve his draft status if he plays another year. He might as well get out now.

Not only that, but BYU has placed 3 FBs in the league over the past 3 years. They know BYU prepares their backs well and Harvey will benefit from that reputation now.



As great as a college education is, a ticket to the NFL is even better. He can always get his degree even while playing football. Those who put a degree over the earning power of playing in the NFL and the advantages it brings afterwards fail to understand simple economics.
