EM_PumaRecently we heard complaints from the Cougar faithful about how BYU, being independent, were not included in the recent P5/G5/ND talks. Well, I guess there are advantages:

At least being independent and outside of that group, BYU benefited by not being included to be sued on a proposed class-action suit on behalf of student athletes. ND wins all and is included in talks and was, as all independents, not included in lawsuit.
"The American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, MAC, Mountain West, Sun Belt and WAC are named defendants in only the Alston cost-of-attendance lawsuit. The SEC, ACC, Big Ten, Pac-12 and Big 12 are defendants in both cases."
