New Names for Expanded Conferences

With today's rumors about the Big 10 and the Pac 10 talking expansion I was wondering what the new names of the conferences would be.



Will the Big 10 stick with tradition and change their name to the Big 11 now that they would have 12 teams?



Does the Pac 10 go with the 12 Pac? Or will they fall back into the Pac 1+11?



Other fall out if BYU and Utah were to leave the MWC and the MWC steals Boise, Fresno, Nevada. Does the WAC change their name to Snowbelt? How about the suckiest bunch of sucks who ever sucked?

I've heard that the Big Ten has the rights to the name Big North.

Big XII has rights to Big 14

Big 10, I think will got Big 12

Pac 10, to Pac 12

If the Big T1e1n picks up Pitt or Notre Dame (yes, I know ND "is" in the Big East already), they should be "the Biggest Losers."

To avoid name confusion, the Big XII wouldn't release the rights to Big 12 for a few years, and the Big 10 wouldn't want it. It has nothing to do with whether the Big XII is still around, it has to do with brand management--you don't want to risk your product being confused/homogenized. It's why the Big 10 didn't change to Big 11 when they added PSU. The Big XII isn't going to make Big 12 available until they are fully established as the Big XIV, and the Big 10 wouldn't want to touch Big 12 until the connotation of it's previous association has died out, which will take years.

If the Pac 10 adds Fresno and SDSU or SJSU: The Patsy 12



If the Big Ten (eleven) picks up ND: Big 10 + a deuce

(works on multiple levels)



If the Pac 10 adds BYU + Utah: The Eastern Polynesian 12



If the Pac 10 adds Utah + Colorado : The WTF? 12

Should the Big 10 expand: Super Underacheiving Conference 12, or SUC 12 for short.



Should the Pac 10 expand: United Pacific Coast Humanitarian University Conference 12, or UPCHUC 12.

IF Pac 10 adds say Utah and Colorado, they could be the Liberal Athletic Conference or LAC 12

IF BYU, Utah, TCU, BSU, Fresno, Nevada, Houston, Air Force and UNLV form their own conference, they can call themselves the BCS Conference--Better Collegiate Schools Conference
