Wow! Jason Buck interview...

Buck is still pissed that BYU wouldn't offer his son a scholarship, even though he wasn't even good enough to get a scholarship offer to Snow College.

Jason Buck's rant is unworthy of comment, reply or attention. To do otherwise is to reward whiny pissy rants and journalism that caters to that.

So much I want to say about his interview, but it's not worth it.



The only former players that seem to have a problem with Bronco are the ones that have an inflated ego and demand personal attention and admiration.



The thing in the interview that bothered me the most was Buck saying that Bronco holds a grudge against the former players because he wasn't good enough to be one of them...



Well, if memory serves, Bronco beat BYU in his only shot as a player and beat BYU multiple times as a DC at UNM.

Why would Bronco be jealous of former players? Seems to me the former players are jealous of Bronco. Bronco is the one that has a successful career in football going and is the head coach of their alma matter.



Seems to me those players expecting BYU to pander to them well after their collegiate careers are living in the past and just trying to hold onto the "glory years." You were an average player on a slightly above average football team. It's done. Move on. It's not BYU's fault that you're now stuck selling cell phones, solar panels, or whatever the latest sales scheme in Utah is. BYU owes you nothing.

I may be naive about what former players would need to satisfy them, but I feel that BYU could do much, much more to involve former players in the program. BYU has a rich tradition of great players and great teams. BYU is making a mistake not to capitalize on this. Having former players involved in the football program, alumni and Cougar Club events, fundraisers, pre-game and half-time festivities, etc. will help to re-energize the fan base.



And, it's not Bronco's job necessarily. But the Athletic Department and Alumni Association could do a much better job to incorporate former players and the tradition that they embody back into the athletics programs and University and alumni events and programs.

Glen Kozlowski and Jake Kuresa were interviewed today about their treatment and assessment of Bronco. They provided an opposite perspective of what Jason Buck stated. It all boils down to individual relationship and experience. Based upon one's opinion about Bronco, it is relatively easy to use an outlier to support your position.

People see what they want to see. Jason Buck is about as far from an objective point of view as you could possibly get on the subject.

Not to mention his new employment is going to be almost entirely about tearing BYU down to make utah look better. and of course, Bronco is the easiest target out there.

I have no doubt some of the alumni feel left out...but to go on a radio show and air the dirty laundry is very problematic for the program. Talk to the AD In private about the issues you have. Does he really think this approach changes anything...

With Buck I use the term alumni loosely...as he hasn't actually graduated from the university (the reason he's not in the HOF).

That's just it, he's not trying to change anything; he's just trying to make BYU and Bronco look bad.

Just so I understand, Buck thinks BYU should have offered and brought in his kid on scholarship and catered to both his kid and him even though his kid was only on the roster at Utah for two seasons (2009-2010)?
